Overview & Reviews
Though the Xterra was updated just last year, Nissan has made further changes for 2003. Mechanically, the V6 has received a slight increase in power, and a stability control system (Nissan's VDC) will be a new option. Also for 2003, Xterra XE V6 models come with standard 16-inch alloy wheels and tubular step rails, and four new exterior colors are available, including Atomic Orange and Camouflage (limited and late availability). Inside, a driver seat-height and lumbar adjuster has been added to V6 models and a new roof headliner net (on nonsunroof models) and luggage side net have also been added, along with new metal ceiling tie-down hooks. A "rugged" leather package is now offered for the SE trim. Other refinements include a 300-watt rating for the Rockford Fosgate-powered eight-speaker audio system, an available tire-pressure monitoring system and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. A heavy-duty alternator and dual 12-volt power outlets located in the engine compartment are also standard on SE trim.
- Rugged looks and the off-road capability to match, lots of room inside.
- Poor on-road ride and steering, four-cylinder and normally aspirated V6 lack power.

Sporty and Smooth - 2003 Nissan Xterra
By Jeep11Girl - December 13 - 10:00 amI was in the market for a Tahoe. I noticed the Xterras popping up everywhere and they really caught my eye. I called my buddy at the dealership, kept one for a 4 day weekend and it just drew to me. I knew one was meant to be on my insurance ID card, and now it is. I still have my Jeep and this new Xterra SC. Thanks Mike at Mossy Nissan!

Love this car!!! - 2003 Nissan Xterra
By dallasgirl - August 18 - 10:00 amThe only complaint I have about this vehicle is the gas mileage... but I knew that going in. This SUV is great... I would recommend it to anyone looking for this size SUV.

Great Starting SUV - 2003 Nissan Xterra
By Mr. INC4 - July 19 - 10:00 amThe Nissan Xterra is a fun and spacious starting SUV with excellent power to get you to places where you would think you never go. The Supercharger delivers power when you need it most and handling similar to a midsize car.

true fun - 2003 Nissan Xterra
By ds532 - May 20 - 10:00 amThis vehicle is the best Ive ever had. I am impressed with its performance off road and on icy snowy roads. I only had to use the four-wheel drive on a few occasions. The limited slip rear differential helps greatly.

This is my second Xterra and i love them - 2003 Nissan Xterra
By Xterrababe - April 12 - 2:00 amI upgraded to the XE supercharged and i love it. I had a 5 speed manula and that was really great in the snow. We just had the biggest snow storm in 7 years and i was out in 20 inches of snow. I got the yellow because it is flashy, and the supercharged is NOT a disapointment. The one thing i have noticed is that it does guzzle gas more than my older one did. As far as room, i have 2 great danes and they have plenty of room! I love this car and think ill keep getting them.

good for what it is - 2003 Nissan Xterra
By bugs bunny - February 5 - 2:00 amEverything they said about it was true. The gas millage is lackling and the ride is hard for 500 miles of highway, but man cannot live by gas millage alone. The Xterra does what I bought it to do. Take Scouts camping and get in rough areas with ease. I dont notice the whine of the suppercharger but you can feel the power when it is need and I am very happy with my choice
