This Year's Model Updates:

The Pathfinder Armada is an all-new full-size sport-utility vehicle from Nissan. Based on the Titan pickup, it features a standard V8 engine, seating for eight and numerous family-friendly features.

Pros:
  • Spacious interior, gutsy V8, lots of up-front storage areas, fold-flat third-row seat.
Cons:
  • Bold styling is polarizing, leather seats not as comfortable as cloth, dismal fuel mileage.

The Armada is simply the best full size SUV on the market right now. You just cant beat the options you get for the price. I looked at all of the competition ie: Expedition, Yukon, Denali, Tahoe and it simply wasnt close as far as price and performance

for an SE 4X4 w/ tow package, built 05- 04 and only 9 days in the lot for $34095.00 out the door (yes incl. tax, tax and title) would I take it, yes. I can get use to some issues but definetely cant deal w/ paying $3000.00 on my trade-in and $1000.00 above invoice + tax, tags & title on a competing manufacturer (I went to all dealership w/ this manufaturer on where I am and just cant get the deal I want cause I got use to paying invoice). cant also deal w/ driving a full size SUV w/ underpower engine.

I have only owned this vehicle for a little over a month and I really love it. The amount of space in this vehicle is amazing! Its perfect for a large family like mine! The only thing I have a hard time with is the gas.

Very pleased overall with my 2004 Armada. Interior design could have been dressed up a bit (LE Model), but performance is excellent. A few rattles in dash and front door panels. Mileage about what I expected - about 16 on the road - but long distance driving comfort is excellent. Mountain performance superb. Very maneuverable considering its size. Like distinctive external styling. No mechanical problems (30,000+ miles). Bose audio and DVD system great. A bit cumbersome to flip second row bucket seats to access third row seating, but once you get there, a very comfortable ride. Like the deep throated rumble and acceleration is excellent.

After studying all SUVs in this size I selected the Armada, overall best price and design features. It has only had one warranty repair (warped brake rotors). Now at 40,000 miles it still drives very well, no leaks or any other issues have come up. Fuel economy is disappointing, other vehicles I have owned of this size have done much better. I would buy another if fuel economy were improved. A very good well thought out vehicle if you are looking for an SUV in this size.

This is a very good large SUV with a lot of safety features as well as the performance and nimbleness of a smaller vehicle. There are a few first year modle issues, but nothing that prevented me from buying.

  • Disappointed with some noises. - 2004 Nissan Armada

I noticed a squeaky noise in the dashboard, right behind the steering wheel. I told the sales manager about it and they said they would fix it. I have taken it to the dealer about 5 times and still not fixed. There is another rattling noise that seemed to come from the dash, when I accelerate down the street. I took it to 2 different dealers and they could not find the source (it seems like the exhaust system is causing it), but they agreed it is a strange noise, and that most Armadas have it. I did notice other noises. The windshield had to be replaced because it was deffective, it had some white spots in the middle of the windshield (between the 2 layers of glass).

I was looking at the Denali, Escalade, and the Armada. IMHO, the LE Armada is the best value in this segment. The Infiniti version was nice but had bells and whistles (and a higher sticker) I dont need. The engine/tranny combination is perfect. And, the V-8 sounds like a V-8 should. Though some have thought the suspension to be a bit firm, my wife likes the fact this SUV does not wallow in turns like other big SUVs tend to do. It really does drive "smaller than it looks." The controls/gadgets are less complicated and easier to master than I thought they would be. Ive already added mudflaps and taken off the roof rack.

Have owned this car since new, continue to keep this while trading/leasing others. The size, ride and functionality are incomparable and we have had minimal problems with a first year model. Highly recommend this vehicle to those considering. Do your homework. The brake concerns are to be expected for a large, heavy SUV that gets traditional auto miles. We have 65k miles and are going in for our second brake job... the first was covered. 2nd set of tires are in great shape. Compare to a Suburban/Expedition by taking a drive test... it is a hands down winner.

We bought this SUV for trips in and out of state. In three weeks we have put on 1600+ miles. The Armada is very comfortable and easy to drive on long trips. Will be towing w/car trailer and Jeep in April
