This Year's Model Updates:

The Pathfinder Armada is an all-new full-size sport-utility vehicle from Nissan. Based on the Titan pickup, it features a standard V8 engine, seating for eight and numerous family-friendly features.

Pros:
  • Spacious interior, gutsy V8, lots of up-front storage areas, fold-flat third-row seat.
Cons:
  • Bold styling is polarizing, leather seats not as comfortable as cloth, dismal fuel mileage.

  • Big Nissan..Big Power - 2004 Nissan Armada

I bought the Armada to tow my boat. A little overkill since my boat and trailer only weights 3,500 lbs. The vehicle has had some initial minor repairs with the rear seat cable release jammed. In addition, they replaced the left rear axle since it would make a cricketing noise when loaded (acceleration). I noticed the noise when driving with windows down.

  • Still going strong - 2004 Nissan Armada

We bought our Armada new in Aug 04. Loved it from the start. Great power, tons of space. Had the usual brake issues, dealer handled it for free. Squeaky A/C fan also fixed free. Over 54K miles now and still going strong. Used it to shuttle 5 men for weekend trip and all commented on how big it is inside. MPG is no worse than other big SUVs, so I dont know why people complain. You know what to expect when you buy these things. We plan to keep the Armada at least another 5 years if all goes well. Why replace such a fantastic vehicle?

  • Not bad for the money - 2004 Nissan Armada

I now have 55,000 miles on my 04. Overall I have been happy with it. There is absolutely no other sport ute that has the space, power and value for the money today. I usually change my vehicles every 2 years but I will admit I am spoiled with the attributes this vehicle has and I simply cannot see paying over $50k for trucks with fewer features. It does rattle a bit, my seat squeaks at turns, have had 3 brake jobs but you know we also had an 06 ML500 @ $60,000 and it had just as many problems. We got rid of the ML and believe it or not kept the Armada.

  • Best hauler - 2004 Nissan Armada
    By -

I bought my Armada new and have been hauling 3000-8000 pound loads bi-weekly for the first 4.5 years. Only have done scheduled maintenance and replaced the front brake pads at 90,000 miles and have replaced 2 sets of tires. This is the best truck/suv I have ever owned. I live in minnesota and this truck starts in below zero temp every time. I now have a 125,000 miles and it runs like a top. It also looks brand new. In the past I have killed ford f150s and chevy 1/2 and 3/4 tons with all the hauling I do. This truck has out preformed all others I have owned. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable suv. I still have the original back brake pads and will probably get 10- 15k miles

I bought this vehicle in the beginning of october it is awesome. I just came from driving the sequoia, their is no comparison. More hp, torque, room, towing capacity, ground clearance, cupholders, more of everything. This is the best part it was 4k less with more equipment. Everywhere I go people stop and stair and the kids love it.

  • This year is should have been skipped - 2004 Nissan Armada

Ill start off by saying that I absolutely ADORE my armada. Its an awesome, beautiful, powerful, comfortable vehicle that I enjoy getting in every time. That being said, the 2004 model is an absolute failure when it comes to reliability. I have had a magnitude of issues with this car since about 6 months after I purchased it. Here are my problems and my actions The 06 model would be your best choice as i have heard of limited problems with this.

  • Poor Braking Vehicle - 2004 Nissan Armada
    By -

I purchased the Armada New in Nov of 2004. I have had the vehicle at the dealer 4 times for brake issues, 1st time a 7000 miles, 2nd 11,000, 3rd 20,000, 4th 36,000. Brakes still do not function properly, pedal depresses to floor to come to complete stop. Nissan tells me brakes are "within stardards" Very frustrating having a 7,000lb SUV not stopping. Sun Roof switch replaced 2 Xs. Temp/direction in mirror still acting up. Car is now shaking at higher HYwy speeds. SUV is very roomy and fun to drive but, I do not like to take a NEW SUV in for work every 6 months. Very Poor Reliability. Nissan Should have fixed the problems before they sold the Car. I may never by another Nissan again.

It is a very luxurious SUV with plenty of head and leg room. This car says style!

  • Loving it more everyday! - 2004 Nissan Armada

Great vehicle. We bought this out of state and drive it on a 2000 mile trip immediately to take it home. I was skeptical at first due to some reviews posted here. Im glad I decided to buy this. Overall much better than my 2001 Tahoe in drivability (Although I only had 1 problem in 3 years where the starter neede to be replaced). I looked at Toyota (Why do people like the interior of Toyotas so much? Just boring.) I think Nissan did an outstanding job on this vehicle. The only complaint I have is a few rattles.

  • Thanks Nissan! - 2004 Nissan Armada

Great solid running vehicle. Interior design, Engine & transmission beat all Toyota, GM or Ford products. Seems it was built by people who care about the customer rather than a committee turning out the standard dull American designs. Roomy rear seats beat any other SUV
