This Year's Model Updates:

The Pathfinder Armada is an all-new full-size sport-utility vehicle from Nissan. Based on the Titan pickup, it features a standard V8 engine, seating for eight and numerous family-friendly features.

Pros:
  • Spacious interior, gutsy V8, lots of up-front storage areas, fold-flat third-row seat.
Cons:
  • Bold styling is polarizing, leather seats not as comfortable as cloth, dismal fuel mileage.

I have only owned this vehicle for a little over a month and I really love it. The amount of space in this vehicle is amazing! Its perfect for a large family like mine! The only thing I have a hard time with is the gas.

After studying all SUVs in this size I selected the Armada, overall best price and design features. It has only had one warranty repair (warped brake rotors). Now at 40,000 miles it still drives very well, no leaks or any other issues have come up. Fuel economy is disappointing, other vehicles I have owned of this size have done much better. I would buy another if fuel economy were improved. A very good well thought out vehicle if you are looking for an SUV in this size.

  • Lots of Power and Room - 2004 Nissan Armada

This is a very good large SUV with a lot of safety features as well as the performance and nimbleness of a smaller vehicle. There are a few first year modle issues, but nothing that prevented me from buying.

Have owned this car since new, continue to keep this while trading/leasing others. The size, ride and functionality are incomparable and we have had minimal problems with a first year model. Highly recommend this vehicle to those considering. Do your homework. The brake concerns are to be expected for a large, heavy SUV that gets traditional auto miles. We have 65k miles and are going in for our second brake job... the first was covered. 2nd set of tires are in great shape. Compare to a Suburban/Expedition by taking a drive test... it is a hands down winner.

Owned the Armada since Feb. 2004 and bought it for its towing capacity. We are towing a boat and it tows great. Problem is loud squealing brakes when they are warm. So far dealer cannot fix - says squealing is normal - I dont think so. Interior quality not up to par - 3 out of 4 window units had to be replaced. Console rattles and were still waiting for a replacement since August.

The power of the Armada is only matched by it interior room. The more I drive it, the more I like it. Great towing capacity, terrible gas mileage (what do you expect!). I love drag racing the other SUVs!

  • Tough truck - 2004 Nissan Armada

I have 120k miles on an 04 Off-Road, and there has only been the brake rotor problem, which Nissan took care of, eventually. I routinely tow 8500 lbs. with it and haul about 500 lbs of tools always, and the truck has held up really well. Better than my previous 2 Expeditions on all accounts, especially comfort & handling.

  • Colorado 2004 Armada LE - 2004 Nissan Armada

I bought this vehicle used from a BMW dealership in August 2005. It was only 10 months old and had 27K miles on it, came loaded with DVD, NAV, Bose. I also bought with full knowledge of the problems that the 04s have, rattles, brakes etc. This prompted me to buy an extended warranty. So far so good, Ive put 9000 miles on the truck in 4 months without a single problem. The brakes are great no dust or pulsing i.e. none of the problems that have been reported, possibly because it had the brake rework done on it before I got it. A Nissan dealer confirmed that for me yesterday. So it appears that, for me at least, the brake rework makes a difference. Its big, lots of airbags and comfortable.

  • BIG BUT DRIVEABLE SUV - 2004 Nissan Armada

VERY COMFORTABLE ON THE HIGHWAY. WITH FOUR KIDS AND DVD IT WAS ACTUALLY A NICE TRIP. SECOND ROW SEAT LEG ROOM IS AMAZING. THIRD ROW ISNT BAD EITHER FOR ME 6FT 1IN., MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR SMALLER PEOPLE. ENGINE IS STRONG THROUGH OUT DRIVING RANGE. EASY FOR ME TO DRIVE IN TOWN. PARALLEL PARKING IS NOT BAD ,ESPECIALLY WITH REAR SENSORS. NAV SYSTEM IS EXCELLENT AND EASY TO USE.

  • My Favorite SUV to date. - 2004 Nissan Armada

I traded in my 2001 Toyota Sequoia for the 2004 Nissan Armada. Reason, the design was excellent, has tons of power has all the features I wanted for an SUV for a whole lot less (cheapest in its class). I love the heck out of this truck. However the build quality is not up to par with the Sequoia neither is the ride quality. But the loaded Armada LE cost a whooping $8,000 less than the loaded Sequoia. I guess you cannot always have it all. I am happy with my buy and so far I have had no issues with it and I look forward to paying off the truck, keep for my 5yr old for his prom night when he graduates high school.
