This Year's Model Updates:

The Pathfinder Armada is an all-new full-size sport-utility vehicle from Nissan. Based on the Titan pickup, it features a standard V8 engine, seating for eight and numerous family-friendly features.

Pros:
  • Spacious interior, gutsy V8, lots of up-front storage areas, fold-flat third-row seat.
Cons:
  • Bold styling is polarizing, leather seats not as comfortable as cloth, dismal fuel mileage.

  • Japanese cars are NOT better - 2004 Nissan Armada

Ive had 3 expeditions in a row and had very few problems. Thought Id try something different so I leased the Armada. What a mistake!!!! This is the worst vehicle Ive ever had. This truck has been in the shop 6 times. Brakes have been replaced and disks reworked due to design problems. Overhead console is ready to fall off due to the horrible install job on the dealer installed DVD player which now doesnt evn work. The squeaks and rattles are so bad that I can hear them no matter how loud the radio is. Downers Grove Nissan is an absolutely horrible dealership. Im so disgusted with this truck and dealership that Im trying to dump it for another Expedition.

  • Damn...Its Nice!!! - 2004 Nissan Armada

Like riding in a limosine with your head in the clouds. Over 3 month we test drove the large Ford, Chevy, GMC, Dodge & Toyota SUVs. They were nice but none of them grabbed both of us. Then my wife and I saw and test drove the Armada. There was just no comparison between the Armada and all of the others. We had to have one. The ride and overall comfort for this type of vehicle is exceptional. It can go anywhere I need and do just about anything all others can do with little or no effort at all. I cant stop showing it off and after a month I am still going into the garage to stare at it at night. You gotta get yourself one!

  • From Fla to NE - 2004 Nissan Armada

Having the vehicle in Fla was great until I moved to NE. Being flat, no hills and no pot holes in Fla I believed this SUV was as smooth as silk. Ha! being in the country in NE up and down hills, windy roads, uneven pavement and pot holes I found out pretty quickly how noisy, unbalanced and terrible the suspension was on this vehicle. However I have been quite lucky and surprised by how it handled in the snow considering I have no 4wd and Ive been in 12-18" of snow many of times. I have had issues with the breaks and seem to have to get the pads and rotors redone about 2x per year other that that no other problems with the vehicle.

  • I LOVE THIS VEHICLE - 2004 Nissan Armada

VERY COMFORTABLE RIDE. NICE SMOOTH SUSPENSION. INTERIOR LAYOUT VERY NICE. EVERYTHING IS LAID OUT WITHIN AN ARMS REACH. SEATING FOR 8 IS A GREAT FEATURE AS WE HAVE ALREADY PUT IT TO THE TEST. NISSAN HAS DONE MANY THINGS RIGHT IN THIS VEHICLE. TOO MANY TO LIST HERE. SEE FOR YOURSELF

  • Few annoying items - 2004 Nissan Armada

Love the power, however we are getting a fluttering sound in the interior at certain speeds that sounds like air pressure. It stops if you crack open a window slightly. Also what really bothers me is at 3000 miles the brake rotors had to be cut because a pulsating pedal, and now at 6000 miles we are having problems again-I want the rotors replaced and not cut again-I believe they are defective and do not want to have to replace them at my cost.

For me, it was between the Durango and the Armada...with the Durango being top dog for 6 months before...that was until I test drove both! No comparison, the Armada had it beat in spaciousness and interior styling. I was a little reluctant to go for a full- size SUV after owning a Blazer, but this is great!

  • Best In Class SUV - 2004 Nissan Armada

This has to be the best Large Class SUV on the road today. I drove all SUVs in this class, except the Range Rover (Price), and Hummer (Not Enough Luxuries), and this beat them all. The drive is like my old Explorer Limited. Very car like feel, no boat like lean in turns. The on board computers do a phenominal job of traction control and the Auto setting for the selectable 4WD makes you feel like your glued to the road. The best selling point for me was the fold down seats. Perfectly Flat.

Three days/three hundred fifty miles and its exceeded expectations thus far. I purchased the leather even though the reviews were not favorable. I find the seats both supportive and comfortable. I did find a small screw pushing out from the side of the seat when I purchased. This was a little unnerving but I tested the seat thoroughly and have not had a problem. Gas mileage is what I expected. The steering wheel mounted controls/wireless headsets for the stereo and DVD have made driving more pleasant. Both family and friends have been impressed with the amount of room in the 2nd row. Acceleration and braking exceeded my high expectations.
