This Year's Model Updates:

Enhancements for the 2005 Nissan 350Z include a standard tire-pressure monitor, heated outside mirrors and a driver-seat height adjuster for both front and rear portions of the bottom cushion. Clutch pedal effort has been reduced this year, and the five-speed automatic transmission now features downshift rev matching. The navigation system has a faster processor for improved route calculation times. A special 35th Anniversary edition includes 18-inch alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, front chin spoiler, rear spoiler, available two-tone leather seats and a choice of three exterior colors, including a new Ultra Yellow. A slight bump in horsepower is also part of the package.

Pros:
  • Smooth and powerful V6 engine, excellent handling, available drop-top version, a bargain compared to anything that can run with it.
Cons:
  • Rough ride on Track model, some low-grade interior materials, lack of luggage space, poor rearward visibility.

This car has been a great, fun car. It is superb with its handling and the performance is also above average. It is also quite an attention grabber. The whole package makes it a great car to own.

  • Fun car to drive, with caveats - 2005 Nissan 350Z

Fun car to drive on back roads, esp. along the Calif coastline. Just be aware of maint costs. I drive it easy, only 7K a year, and still replaced 6 tires, tranny, the top, clutch pedal, clutch and flywheel. Clutch chatter is embarrassing! But, she has power and hugs the roads nicely. Stops on a dime and accelerates briskly. I think the traction control is about to go--what happened to Japanese engineering? Oh and subwoofer failed twice (note I owned 2 other Nissans but not sports cars and loved them)

I exchanged a 2003 Track 350Z and find this vehicle more refined and easier to drive with the automatic, which is smooth as silk.

  • Beware: Tire feathering! - 2005 Nissan 350Z

I would hold off on buying this car for now. My tires only had 13k miles and it was seriously wearing on the inner walls. An alignment didnt fix it. Also, the tires roared loudly. Nissan service wouldnt replace the entire cost of tire. This shouldve been a re-call. Until they fix this issue, i repeat HOLD OFF ON BUYING IT! The car is fun to drive with handling and exceleration. Again, just wait until they fix this issue of tire feathering before you buy it. It was a pain dealing with Nissan.

Comparing the price of all other sport cars, the 350Z is the best bang for your buck!! The "get up and go" of this sports car is thrilling. The 350Zs body style is a head turner. I love it!!!!

Theres not another car in its class that has the stylings of the the 350Z. Its a head turner with the power to back it up. zoom zoom zoom

I got the Z in the last week of March. I have to say I havent been disappointed in any way. I ended up with the auto as a concession to my wife, but I cant say Im sorry. She loves the car as much as I do. There dont seem to be many in our area, so we continue to get looks everywhere we go. Ive driven the car nearly every day since I got it. I think the ergonomics are ok. The stereo is fine, but there is more road noise from the hatch area than I like. Be prepared, the ride is stiff. I never owned a car like this before, and that took some getting used to. I havent had any of the problems earlier models seemed to have. No problems period!

  • Front tire extreme tire wear - 2005 Nissan 350Z

After just 2,000 miles, front tires shot with inner threads worn to create tire roar. Nissan replaced free front tires only. Waited 3 months for those tires, and by that time I had 10,000 plus miles on the car. I paid out of pocket for two rear tires because I wanted tire thread depth to be the same front and back. Front end aligned and new tires temporarily fixed the terribly loud noise in the interior. However changing the camber of the front end now causes the steering to hunt. I must keep constant attention to steering. I feel I have been robbed by Nissan. This problem was known back in 2003. With all the pluses for the vehicle I would not recommend any one buy one. Tires are $200.each.

I purchased my 350Z almost one year ago and with the exception of the front tires feathering I really enjoy the car.
