  • I love my MB - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

I have owned this car for 11 years and have never had the kind of problems others mention. The tires and brakes last as well as my Volvos have. Repairs are quite expensive but I go to a MB specialist who is honest and reliable for considerably less than MB dealers. I do drive intelligently and take prope care of the car. 120,000 miles so far and many more to go.

  • Business Car that has been reliable - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

I bought the car used with only 43000 miles on it. Have driven it mostly for business trips on the road and have enjoyed the acceleration, the room for clients in the back seat, the smoooooth ride and the impression the car makes. Beautiful finish on exterior. Have only had to replace a set of brakes and two tires. But I DID purchase an extended warranty to be safe. I have really enjoyed driving this car!

The review of the car must have been done by some idiot. THey obviously dont know what to look for in a luxury car. I have no problems with the car for 3 yrs and love driving across canada. Normally, edmunds helps, but this reviewer should be FIRED.

My wife had always wanted a Benz. Ive driven BMWs for the last seven years. I must say Im very impressed with this car. While it doesnt handle like a BMW, it is none the less very impressive. I love to drive the car. The weekend I bought it, I drove it 1,000 miles and loved it! I definitely have moved over to Mercedes Benz!

I bought this car on ebay and I have had it for 2 years. It handles very well and is beautiful. I wish the navagation would auto update( each time you start up) like my husbands Platinum esv Escalade. I know this was pioneering navagation. I am thinking of getting another one if I can find one in the same color.I have the s430. I choose this one after comparing the dimensions of the back seats between 430/500. The 430 excelarated faster. I have had to spend no major $ on repairs I do my A and B services reg. Go For it.

  • Buyer should know better... - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

When you bought an older S-class, you should have expected it to cost you $$$ in repairs. My 2000 S500 has cost me $12,000 in repairs since I bought it 4 years ago. Now that sounds like a lot, but when you spread it over the 4 years, it has cost me $250 per month to drive the sweetest production car on the road. When you throw in depreciation, it has cost me about $400 per month to drive it. Show me a comparable vehicle that you can drive for that cost--its not out there. So although the S500 gives you heartache and wallet-ache at times, do the math and youll realize it has been well worth it!

  • Great Car - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Im nearing the end of my 4 year lease, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. You have to own one of these to appreciate all the details that contribute to the driving experience. It manages to be ultra comfortable and quiet without becoming dull or isolating the driver. Ive just road tested the obvious competitors (7 series, A8, XJ), all of which are new designs, looking for my next car and they all have obvious flaws. So Ive configured and ordered a 2004 S-Class and am looking forward to another pleasurable 4 years.

This is my 7th Mercedes. The previous six were outstanding but this one is terrible. I had 3 Jaguars (97, 00 and 03) after my 6th and I am going back. This car has 95,000 miles and in the last 2 years, radio broke-(chip-$500), air suspension-($800), lower control arms and bushings-($1,000), and right now, the AC, the passenger side window , the parking sensor mechanism, the seat memory, the seat messagers, the CD changer, the seat memories all dont work, and rust is developing at the bottom of all 4 doors and behind the rear license plate even though is is meticulously maintained. I now have 3 friends with the S series who have sworn off them and never coming back.

  • Greatest of autos - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Great vechile. Had front shock and strut replaced. Faced some sticker shock but for ride, control, safety, that part being air and adjustable, it was reasonable. Room, comfort, driving enjoyment 2nd to none. 40 yrs of driving experience in the mountains of NC and all, and I mean all, types of other vechile experience, this is the best of experiences.

  • The best car I have owned in 50 yrs - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Navigation system can still be more friendly, but the car drives itself especially when in trouble.
