This car saved my life! - 2002 Mazda Protege
By Patrick - June 27 - 10:16 amI bought this car in May of 05 with only 23,000 miles on it but in Oct of 07 I was going to work and a deer ran out and hit my car just after buying very expensive winter tires. The funny part was that I made it home even after getting hit by a deer.

2000 mazda - 2000 Mazda Protege
By Mike - June 14 - 2:46 pmI bought the car in 4/2002. Replaced battery and brakes only (besides normal maint. items). At around 185000 I need to replace the fuel filter. Mazda builds great cars.

2002 Protege DX - 2002 Mazda Protege
By Siege - June 6 - 5:43 pmI bought a used black 2002 Mazda Protege DX last year. It was a very good price, and had low miles. I must say that this car is wonderful in many ways. Not only is it a great looking car on both the outside and inside, but its also got a little zip to it. Air conditioning works great, and the bass is nice when turning up the music. I found the performance very good for this type of car, and I enjoy speeding off when the light turns green. Granted this is no sports car and it wont win races, but the reliability and fuel economy, on top of being a great car overall wins me over.

Nice Car!!! - 2003 Mazda Protege
By Frei - May 10 - 10:00 amI just bought this car today and Im already in love with it. Im 19 and its my first new car. Im so happy I chose this car over the cavalier I was looking into. The exterior is really sleek and the interior is BEAUTIFUL and comfy. My last car was an oldsmobile, so Im used to a very smooth ride and for an economy car this one rides decent. Im also used to a V6 and this car surprised me, its got pep for its size! I recommend!

Fun to Drive for so little - 2000 Mazda Protege
By ozman406 - April 24 - 5:36 amI got a great deal on this car at end of year. I wanted every option available. I log lots of highway miles due to commute. This car is a hoot to drive. I put better tires on it and it handles beautifully. I perform all scheduled maintenance on time and have had no issue except for the ABS brakes. The last time I had them replaced about 10k miles ago, the dealer didnt even do a test drive. I started to drive off the lot and the noise and grabbing was unbearable. Lost another day without it until they fixed the issue.

Love my protege - 2000 Mazda Protege
By jeannesmyname - January 28 - 9:44 amI absolutely loved my Protege, it was very reliable, comfy, and fun to drive. I put 150K on it. It also got excellent gas mileage. It will not play burned cds and had a year where I had to have the belt replaced a few times, since then its been running like a top. Just traded it in today for a newer car, but was sad to see it go. I really hope it goes to a great home!

A true sleeper - 2003 Mazda Protege
By Dnasty - January 4 - 11:13 pmProtege is one the best handling front wheel drive cars in its class still to date. The car moves any where you want it move without much effort. The interior is pretty good better then average. Gas mileage is great on the car. Ive had my protege for about 3 years and its on 93,000 and never gave me any problems as long you take care of the car. I suggest buying some performance parts for the car, cold air intake, and exhaust system. For ride comfort suggest getting 17 inch rims no bigger with sporty tires. Will make a world difference.
