This Year's Model Updates:

Coming off a complete redesign just last year, the 2010 Mazda 6 sees little in the way of change. A new optional audio and Bluetooth display debuts, as does a new Touring Plus trim level. Features have also been shuffled among trim levels to lower the vehicle's base price.

Pros:
  • Roomy cabin, big trunk, muscular performance from V6, smooth automatic transmissions, relatively sporty handling.
Cons:
  • Mediocre fuel economy, some cheap interior materials.

Cool car. Loving the m6 6man! Got the I sport. No need fog lights (can install after-market later/cheaper) in area. 16" steel rims and tires will be replaced after tire wear with non-stocked 17" or 18" alloy rims and tires at invoice price. No need leather wrapped steer wheel and gear shift head. With that said. Go for m6isport over more expensive m6itour trim, the zoom zoom is the same!

I like the appearance of the vehicle from the outside, and the price was right when I bought it. However, I found I never really got comfortable in it, even after driving it for 3 years. Im almost 6 tall, and I felt like I was surrounded by dangerous blind spots. Its deceptively big, and kind of heavy and slow. The interior felt a little cheap, and its so low to the ground (around 5" of clearance), but also so long that I was frequently knicking the front bumper on the ground. In a storm, I drove through a puddle that wasnt even that deep, and two parts of the plastic covering attached with plastic bolts over the engine caught in the water and ripped off.

After looking at many makes and models, we settled on the Mazda. The 300,000 + miles we got on our 1990,323 had some influence. So far, we have been pleased; no surprises. Controls, gauges, and comfort features were well thought out, and fit like a glove. Adequate power, but still good gas mileage. Seats four very comfortably. Glad we chose a model with steel wheels; not the custom wheels with thinner tires. If satellite radio not fully installed (only the control on dash installed) you might want to ask what it will cost to install the radio later. We didnt. Keep in mind this is a low profile car - watch speed bumps and high curbs. Overall, we have no regrets so far. Great car.

First new car I have ever owned...had 3 years now. I picked this car because everything else looked alike. A+ on that, I think its sexy hot and unique. My biggest complaints are that it doesnt have a lot of power (same engine as Mazda3 I believe - probably rocks in that model) and the gas mileage is horrible for a 4 cylinder. It gets like 20 mpg AND has a lack of power...hmmm. I always find lots of minor annoyances in a cars interior design and the 6 is no different. One think I really hate is that if you open the rear windows and not the front windows at 30 mph+ (for my dog) it totally pops your ears with negative air pressure...never seen anything like it! It actually hurts!

  • Good car - 2010 Mazda Mazda6

Have had car now for three months. Nice car to drive. Had a manual 1988 626 previously for 23 years and that car, even old, gave much better mileage (27 city, 35 hwy) than this car; probably due to all the added built in features on 6. One cannot choose options as in old days. Performance ok now, cannot judge reliability after 3 months--maybe in 3 years. Appearance is good, trunk nice and big. Could only get black interior with manual and shows dirt quickly; Mazda should provide more interior options with this style. Seats are hard, lumbar feature not as useful for me as my old 626, wrong position. Good car with advanced features but old 626 was much sportier with better gas mileage

I wrote my first review shortly after I got this car in late November, 2010 (see posting below: "Great car if you like large"). Anyway, this is still functioning as a great car for me. It still seems too large, but I cannot complain about much at all. Its got almost 30K miles and the only trips to dealer service have been for tire/wheel rotations; I do my own oil change-really easy to do on this car. I love the car for long road trips; its quiet, has power (not a lot extra, but certainly enough), and is really comfortable.

  • Early days, but seems a great car - 2010 Mazda Mazda6

Ive only had this car for 3 days, so early days. But first impressions rarely let me down. 2 features I prefer over the S Touring V6 model mine replaced. Wheels/tires are now 215/55/17s, instead of 45/18s. This makes more sense, as Missouris potholes will be much more tolerant with the 17 inch wheels. The handling/roadholding/ride is tremendous. Ive looked at Camrys, Accords, Fusions, Malibus and Sonatas. The Mazda, overall offers the best value. I got about $4250 off the retails price, including an above average trade in for my last car, plus a discount on the extended warranty (6 years/100,000 miles). I love the cloth seats, cant stand leather!

  • over 1 year together - 2010 Mazda Mazda6

Car runs great, but I still have the feeling that something will break down. The driving is not so comfortable, and the engine sound is too loud, it sounds like blender and both with the transmission, they think before they act. I saw more responsive trans than this one. Overall quality and ride is ok, not for elderly but still only for going to work and back. The best thing is THE LOOK. MAZDA6 looks like much more expensive car, paint job is great after a year looks shiny like new.

This new 6 drives and feel like a sports car, at the same time it offers comfortable seating for all 4 passenger. Plus enough room for extra storage. The gear shifts with little efforts and the clutch has low resistance. The shift knob position is just about right but the radio control is a little our of reach at my seating position but thats what controls on the wheel is for. The 2.5 MZR engine makes your driving experience is quit fun.

I love this car. If your going to buy a 2010 Mazda 6 spring for the Grand Touring Package. you will love it.
