  • At Dealer Constantly - 2006 Mazda Mazda5

Well, I was hoping that this vehicle would be perfect for my wife and kids. At 1st you think it should be with the long list of features etc. However, we have had nothing but problems. Have had the struts upfront changed 3 times in 25,000 miles, wind noise from the drivers side door is terrible, the locks have stopped working 4 times. Have had to change key fobs 2 times. The steering column has had to be changed twice because it would slide in and out with zero effort. The rear doors have had to change the locking mechanisms inside because they stopped working. The dealer told me that the car did not have an alarm after the passenger side mirror was broken over night by a thief.

  • It Just Feels Right - 2006 Mazda Mazda5

Before Mazda went zoom-zoom, their slogan was "it just feels right." And that is exactly the way I feel about the Mazda5. Ordinarily you like a car that is well defined and has a specific purpose like the two seat sports car or the traditional minivan. However, the Mazda5 is one of those cars that is difficult to categorize. Is it a minivan or is it a wagon? Sure, it has sliding doors and three rows of seats like a minivan, but it is also compact and sporty like many of todays wagons. It even comes with a manual transmission. Imagine, the versatility of a minivan in a very unminivan like appearance. Thats what makes the Mazda5 feel so right.

  • Very Good Find - 2006 Mazda Mazda5

After 1500 miles with 20 city and 27 highway mpg driving (75 mph hwy) Ive found performance ideal for my needs as I do not intend to race up Pikes Peak, there are other vehicles built for that. I particular enjoy the cargo capacity and versatility. Im a previous Mazda 626 owner and was frustrated with the notchy transmission. This one is very smooth and satisfying. In short, no complaints and much satisfaction.

I told my husband I didnt want that typical soccer mom look and we both wanted something that was economical for the whole family. We went online to find something that would work for us and came across the Mazda 5. Immediately the next morning we went to a dealership (3 hours from home) and found there were only TWO or THREE Mazda 5s available around this area. We opted for the Mazda Sport which has almost all the features of the touring including the 6 CD changer and sunroof but not the navigation system. We drove it home that same day. The only thing that I can find to improve the Mazda 5 would be a better A/C for the front and back of the vehicle.

  • The total package in one vehicle! - 2006 Mazda Mazda5

All right, its a minivan thats a hoot" to drive. I bought my "5" based on looks, features, color (whitewaterpearl), price and the most important item of all, its a 5-speed. As I have owned it now for 6 months I am thoroughly pleased with what this vehicle gives me... dirving enjoyment! Mazda really did a great job in the overall design and build of this MAV. I have had no issues as of yet and find the fit and finish is excellent. My only complaint is that mazda didnt make a "speed5" version.

  • Best value of R class or Pacifica - 2006 Mazda Mazda5

Got the Sport model with 4-speed auto and Popular Equipment package. Awesome styling. Very flexible and spacious interior. About time this kind of vehicle came to the U.S. Great value for for below $20k and over 20 mpg in town. The sliding rear doors make it real convenient to access the third row unlike similar vehicles such as Chrysler Pacifica or Mercedes R Class. Ideal for 4 people in good comfort with plenty of cargo, or 6 people in reasonable comfort. This is one cool Crossover. Mazda proactively recalled and fixed exhaust issue and gave $500 in return.

We bought our car 31 Dec. 05. We knew we were going to purchase something to split up the kids, but had no desire to purchase a minivan, way too big for us. We also own a 2003 P5 with 103k+ miles and have had no problems with it. We love manuals, and when we saw this car, we knew we would be making a purchase as soon as the hit the market. Everyone one rides in comfort, because the kids each have their own little space where they can stretch out on the jaunts around town, or the trips from DC to Atlanta. We get great gas mileage; DC to Atlanta on 1.5 tanks of gas. Many people have asked us about the vehicle, and when they see it has most of the minivan items, they are stunned.

  • Way to go Mazda 5 - 2006 Mazda Mazda5

We have two kids and a very large dog and we all fit comfortably in the 5. We downsized from a Sienna and we love the car. I suggest getting a standard 5 speed. Very very zippy and a blast to drive. The power even though it is a 4 cylinder is no problem with a stick. Weve been getting 28 mpg with standard transmission.

  • Best Buy All Purpose Vehicle - 2006 Mazda Mazda5

One week after the purchase we had to turn our Mazda5 back to the dealer for the exhaust system recall. We have to say that Mazda handled it all very well. The vehicle is so correct in concept, design and timing that we could not resist it once we had driven it. We are car people and have owned many, many cars through the years. This one is the most versatile, useful, fun to drive package available. We have not experienced any power problems even loaded with 6 adults plus luggage. Family or not, this is one of the best buys out there.
