Overview & Reviews
The Mazda 5 is a new, affordably priced compact minivan that seats six.
- Low price, generous features list, precise steering, stellar fuel economy for a minivan.
- Can seem underpowered when fully loaded with people and gear, extremely cramped third row.

Love My Mazda - 2006 Mazda Mazda5
By Lolo - December 22 - 7:33 amI am very pleased with the way this car handles. Very sporty. I have an automatic with the 6 cd package. I just went on a 4 hour road trip on a very windy day and it handled exceptionally well. I am very impressed with the amount of interior space. My daughter has 3 year old triplets and an eight year old ... she loves the safety features and borrows it often. She and her husband plan on buying one this summer.

By Karen Winters - December 3 - 8:46 amI love the way this sport wagon handles. Hugs the road and responds well. I call it my "mini" mini-van.

vehicle for todays family - 2006 Mazda Mazda5
By Norm Favit - November 6 - 3:46 amI have 2300 km on the M5 and Im confident I made the right choice for a long term vehicle. Id recommend the M5 for a growing family that puts a lot of miles on the car as the fuel economy is excellent relative to vehicles of similar seating capacity (just finished a 470km road trip with 7.9 l/100km).

Would buy again except for the dealer - 2006 Mazda Mazda5
By Chris - October 29 - 3:33 pmIm very satisfied with the car. Its the right size, the only problems weve had were early model year problems and though annoying were quickly fixed by Mazda. It is starting to show its age though. Rattles are starting, the suspension does not seem as tight as it once did and fit and finish are being to show some age and the effects of two kids. The tires that Mazda put on the car were terrible and had to be replaced after 20000 miles. Replaced these with a decent set of tires and the wear on them is much better. Though the probably still wearing much more quickly than reasonable. It has enough power and is kinda fun to drive. If the dealership was better I would consider another Mazda

Not a minivan - 2006 Mazda Mazda5
By Jim - August 21 - 3:30 pmWhat I liked about this car most of all was the convenience and features. Handles nicely and is an excellent value. Anyone in the market for a small crossover vehicle needs to see this car.

Still enjoying it! - 2006 Mazda Mazda5
By Shawn B - August 5 - 10:00 amI bought this car brand new back in July of 05. We have had minor issues with it, but I still enjoy driving it. We brought it back to the dealership for a faulty lock, and bushing noise. The dealership did not fix either problem. Even with its issues I still like it. We recently picked up a used 2007 Odyssey and the thing is absolute garbage. I look forward to driving the Mazda now.

The best vehicle out there! - 2006 Mazda Mazda5
By Geo - July 2 - 5:03 amI just traded in my 3 hatch for a 5 Sport and am so happy I did. This car, like the 3, just exceeds any and all expectations in every way. That is how I felt about the 3 - but they have improved some things and the car feels bigger. Its quieter, smoother, still tight, plus all the room is unbelievable. My 2 kids are under 4 and one is in second row, one in 3rd row - that way you can still sit with them and use the cubby under one seat for toys! Mind boggling the space inside - it doesnt look that big from outside ... elegant, sleek ... classy inside and out. I love the cloth and dash; it just works for me as do all the new Mazdas.

WOW! - 2006 Mazda Mazda5
By Scott - July 2 - 2:00 amMy family and I love this car! It has ample room for a family of four with the flexibility to accommodate two other passengers for playdates. We love this vans athletic profile and performance. It has a lot more kick than what you would expect from a 4-cylinder minivan. We have the autostick transmission with power sunroof and 6 CD changer. I tell everyone I know who is considering a minivan to buy this car.

Love it - 2006 Mazda Mazda5
By GPZJACK - May 27 - 11:00 pmOnly had it for a few weeks but we are loving it. Owned 2 Town and Countrys and will never own again. Looked at the Matrix/Vibe and a few others but nothing came close. Seating for 6 was a big part of our decision at first but once we realized how much we were getting for the price the others paled in comparison. My wife and I argue over who will drive now.
