This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Mazda 3 sees a number of changes. Although these include a minor exterior refresh involving mainly the taillights, most are more functional. Now standard on all Mazda 3s are a tire-pressure monitor, an auxiliary input jack for the stereo, a rear-seat center armrest and an additional power point in the console. A stability control system becomes available on the Touring and Grand Touring trims.

Pros:
  • Athletic handling, refined engines, strong brakes, sharp styling, top-notch build and materials quality, hatchback utility.
Cons:
  • Top safety equipment either optional or on higher trims, tight rear legroom, so-so fuel economy with 2.3-liter engine.

  • Still one of the better looking small sedans on the road. - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

The car is a great compromise between sleepy, although quiet Corolla and entertaining, yet loud and overpriced (for a used car) Civic. Very engaging ride, fairly precise handling, not the quietest ride but not as loud as Civic. Even though car is now 6 years old, its still a very good looking model. Interior is very well thought out, excellent fit and finish - clean, functional, attractive. This generation is notorious for rust problems, half of 3s I see on the road have rust which decreases resale value. Other than that had no problems with the car. If you are looking for a good quality small sedan mazda 3 is a must see - great balance between performance, quality, value and looks.

  • A happy "shotgun" marriage - so far! - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

Became acquainted with the M3 as a rental car while an SUV wed recently purchased was in the shop for some fit/finish issues. Liked how it drove and handled. BUT - our other car (Honda Civic Hybrid) was beginning to have serious premature trouble. Had to find something, fast. Looked at the Corolla and Civic, but we also test drove another Mazda3. Wasnt disappointed .... drove off the lot with it.

Ive had my Mazda for 5 months now and i still absolutely love it. They happened to have the exact one i wanted with all the options i wanted fresh off the truck (moonroof, rear wing, in dash 6-disc cd change, among others)I cant wait to drive to work everday and i always offer to to drive everywhere and i love showing the car off. Like everyone else i agree it needs a trunk release! other then that no complaints! Love love love this car! no regrets buying it!

  • Best compact car available. - 2007 Mazda Mazda3
    By -

This is my second Mazda3. Ive looked at every compact car under $20K, and the 3 is the best for the money. It has the best performance numbers, features and driving ability. Not to mention the build quality-Its a hair below entry-level German cars, so about the same as a good Volkswagen. From the 06 model, the best improvements are traction control and the auxiliary input jack. Otherwise the car is pretty much the same, and thats a good thing. I have a few minor quibbles: The dash is plain without sat-nav and is prone to attracting dust very quickly and the pedal placement is a bit off (brake and gas too close together). But dont worry, the car can take corners like a true sports car.

  • Lots of Power - 2007 Mazda Mazda3
    By -

Nicely set up cockpit with well painted trim. Not a fan of the long front and super short back, but still has plenty of room in the backseat and trunk. Car has lots of power when it chooses to perform. Sometimes, it just wants to run sluggish, other times it wants to shift into the next gear harshly, but most times drives like it should. Very horrible on gas, but when you have a bozo trying to cut you off, it has enough power to keep them in their place (which is behind you). AC runs great and rain sensing wipers come in handy. Glove compartment is HUGE and there is plenty of places to put your little things.

Im very happy with the Mazda3 5- door. Phantom Blue with Moonroof and 6 CD - Auto. Looks sharp! Its a very tight vehicle that handles very well. A great package with many features = outstanding value. Thanks to all the reviews here for helping me decide on this vehicle.

  • Mazda 3s Leak oil - 2007 Mazda Mazda3
    By -

Mines a lemon. It has an oil leak that the dealer cant fix. Theyve tried to repair it three times already. Ive owned the car for less than three months. Its been in the shop 20% of the time. Stay away from this car and if you have one check it for oil leaks.

  • Amazing car! - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a fun to drive, attractive, and over all great car. I have had mine for about about 6 months and I love it more everyday! The interior looks way better than any other cars in this class, and the exterior is really good looking, sporty is the word I would use. I get about 32 mpg. The handling is amazing! Just ignore the signs that say 35 around a corner, go 55! Overall, I am very, very happy with my purchase!

  • 2007 i Touring Automatic - 2007 Mazda Mazda3
    By -

Just traded in my Jeep Liberty for a economical car and decided on the Mazda 3i touring. Well worth the upgrade for the electric windows and locks. I have only had the car for about two weeks and dont miss my SUV at all. This car is great on gas. I drive 100 miles a day commuting and I got 370 miles on my first tank! What a difference from filling up every 250 miles.
