This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Mazda 3 sees a number of changes. Although these include a minor exterior refresh involving mainly the taillights, most are more functional. Now standard on all Mazda 3s are a tire-pressure monitor, an auxiliary input jack for the stereo, a rear-seat center armrest and an additional power point in the console. A stability control system becomes available on the Touring and Grand Touring trims.

Pros:
  • Athletic handling, refined engines, strong brakes, sharp styling, top-notch build and materials quality, hatchback utility.
Cons:
  • Top safety equipment either optional or on higher trims, tight rear legroom, so-so fuel economy with 2.3-liter engine.

  • Economic Fun - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

I chose the Mazda3 over a Civic EX coupe because I was looking for performance, styling and versatility over mileage. After 2,000 miles, Im finding all of that and more. This car is a pleasure to drive on long trips and short. Handling is superb and mileage has been excellent, generally getting 29-33 mpg. This car offers Honda quality with twice the styling.

I bought this car for my son, who is turning 16 in a few months. Im considering buying one for me because it is so much fun to drive. The quality of the car is unbelievable. Test drive a Honda and Toyota then a Mazda, you will definitely be sold on the Mazda.

It was time to trade in my 2002 Mazda Protege. That car was a dream for 9 years she served me well. After being rear ended on the interstate, with 89,000 on her, it was time to say good bye. It was a sad day. I searched and searched for a new car. From a Ford Fiesta, Honda Civic, and the 2010 Mazda and I spent 4 months of research and ended up with Louise (the name of my car) :-). She is very comfy and fits me well. I have not had her long enough but overall she is good. However, I am concerned about the Fuel Economy. I am currently seeing the true gas mpg on this car. Also visibility is good not great but good. If Mazda could improve fuel Economy it be a big bang for the buck

  • Excellent Over All - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

After 3.5 years, I still really LOVE my Mazda 3 Hatch..My complaints are few but to prospective buyers, worth noting. 1.Check engine light comes on about twice a year-- and so far,has only meant that the gas cap was loose. Why no loose gas cap light? They charge to check it on the diagnostic computer. Its a rip, imo. 2. The original tires are awful. Replace them as soon as you can. 3. Dash visibility is poor depending on how you have the steering wheel set. At the height and angle I like it, I cannot see vital things like my temp gauge or speedometer. 4. Interior (wherever you might touch with your arms) gets covered in unsightly White smudges if you wear any type of sunblock.

  • Good for the Money - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

My 2007 Mazda 3 (manual transmission) is a fun and peppy little car. I have had several problems with this car, though. First, this car is horrible in the snow, and in the rain, too. I have feared for my life many times in this car. Second, although the Bose stereo system sounds great, the CD player has never worked properly. When I brought it to the attention of the dealership while the car was still under warranty, they said they couldnt see any problems with it. Now, the CD player does not work at all and they wont fix it. Also, the stereo buttons randomly fell off. Finally, Ive had sporadic problems with the car not starting on the first try if it has been sitting in the rain.

  • Better than Honda - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

I had owned one of the first 2006 redesigned Honda Civic Coupes - a car I instantly fell in love with. But I soon fell out of love with my Civic EX and decided to trade the car in. I have to say I didnt have the same passion when I first got my Mazda 3 but nearly a year later I am sold on Mazda. The Mazda has great handling and suspension. And for the price the build quality is an incredible value - Mazda has to be losing money on this. The power is definitely better than the Honda or Toyota. I do think the design is kind of boring. Oh the 2.0 should come standard with more than 4 gears

I loved the mazdas ever since they came out and made it my goal to purchase one. On 10/06, I bought one and became a proud owner. I love the exterior, interior could use some work but I am quite content with my car. I dont need all those extra features - just have an A/C and a CD player and Im content. So far so good, the car is very reliable but the real test will come in a few years from now to see just how reliable it is.

  • Enjoying my Mazda 3 GT! - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

Ive owned this car for 4 months now and continue to be impressed. After coming out of a BMW I wanted something "fun" to drive with good handling and the 3 has delivered. The GT comes with a long list of features in a car of this price range. The 5 door hatch has proven to be very versatile yet with the seats up can carry 4 adults in comfort. I wish my wife knew how to drive a stick as it would be even more fun with the manual tranny. At times the automatic hesitates a little between gears and can be somewhat difficult to drive smoothly. Also, on days over 90 degrees the A/C can seem a little weak unless you put on recirculate. Ive already taken it on a 1500 mile trip - comfortable road car!

  • Great fun, great value! - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

Overall, a great balance between fun driving and economy. MPG seems closely tied to temperature - I got as low as 25 mpg last winter w/ mostly city driving, but had it up as high as 35 mpg in the summer, even w/ AC on. The steering is a little looser than Id like, but handling is sharp, otherwise. Road/engine noise actually arent bad - its a *sporty* car, folks. Back seat is apparently comfy enough for my friends to fall asleep in it on a 3-hour trip. Interior was a little squeaky for the first several months, but that seems to have gone away. Better in the snow than I expected w/ this kind of HP. Engine is way forward of front axle - I suspect to deal w/ torque steering.

  • Its Okay..... - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

I have had this car for about 2 1/2 years and have a couple of issues with it. From the beginning I have been dealing with warning lights coming on non stop with nothing wrong. I had a blow out of one of my tires. In the pst 1 1/2 I have had to replace the tires twice, maybe because of my commuting. Overall I do love my car, its just been one thing after another though.
