Overview & Reviews
For 2003, power sliding doors are an option for both the LX and ES trim levels. A towing package and a cargo organizer are two other new options. Also, an alarm and engine immobilizer are now part of a security package, and a cassette player is available on the ES trim level. The LX trim now rides on 16-inch wheels. Inside, floor and cargo mats are now standard on both trim levels, while outside, you'll see a new exhaust tip.
- Compact and maneuverable, confident handling manners, roll-down windows in the sliding doors.
- Limited maximum cargo capacity, lacks some features found in the other minivans.

I LOVE THIS VAN!!! - 2003 Mazda MPV
By Go Bucks - January 14 - 2:00 amWe shopped for over a year to be sure of what we wanted... and we are SO glad we did. Larger vans are over rated! I was not impressed with the Honda Odyssey "at all" plus the sales people are way too confident in a van that just isnt that great(when we looked at the honda the salesman cut his finger pulling down the fold under seat in the back, if he cant do it how am I going to do it)!! If you are shopping for a fantastic van that is sporty and comfortable take a look at this van and give it a chance. The MPV has features that the other do not! I like that!! We made the right choice...BUY ONE We give it a "10"

Just Purchased 2003 MPV ES - 2003 Mazda MPV
By RTB - January 9 - 10:00 amWe chose this van over 04 Sienna, not only because of the obvious price difference, but because of the driving experience, and comfort. The MPV is relatively quiet, and there is ample power. The quality of interior and exterior fit and finish can stand with any van on the market. Park Mazda of Akron handled everything in a polite and professional way.

Fire Mazdas Marketing Dept. - 2003 Mazda MPV
By robbieboy - January 9 - 10:00 amThe wife had her heart set on an Odyssey (who doesnt?), then the new Sienna (for some, size DOES matter) until reality set in and cost became a key factor. In willing to compromise on size, I came to Edmunds.com where I learned that the Mazda MPV has that coveted disappearing 3rd row seat, like Hondas and Toyotas. Took a test drive during lunch break, wife drives it later in the day - struck a deal that night. She loves her MPV. No regrets....oh, and no egg smell either. Fire Mazdas marketing crew if the best they can do in selling this wonderful sports van is "zoom zoom"! Zoom, zoom indeed...but its an even better value.

Great van - 2003 Mazda MPV
By medicineman - December 15 - 10:00 amWith 2 growing kids we needed more room than our Altima had to give. We looked at all the minivans rated with good reliability and it was down to this or the Honda. The Honda dealers wont deal at all and the Oddity was bigger than I wanted. It looked like it wouldnt fit in the garage very well. The MPV is the perfect size. The 200 HP engine is very responsive for a van. It handles great, you almost forget it is a minivan.

Zoom,Zoom,Zoom - 2003 Mazda MPV
By loconn11 - November 26 - 10:00 amI now have the sports van since April 29th. I have 600 miles on her. I am dying to take a long distance drive but it rains here in the northeast every weekend. I paid $21,300 for the LX. The ride is solid and so far the transmission feels SUVie (I guess since it is from the Tribute) Excellent acceleration and handling. It is a sharp looking vehicle and I am frequently stopped and asked questions. Considering all the other minis are around 30K this is a great value.

2003 MPV is fun AND functional - 2003 Mazda MPV
By mkxlh883 - September 2 - 10:00 amIf you are looking for a stylish FUN minivan packed with practical creature comforts and some kick, then grab one of the 2003 MPVs. We opted for the ES with several more options including the GFX package, which transforms the MPV into a real eyecatching vehicle. We compared this to the Honda minivan, and found the MPV to have soul, better handling and was an overall better value.

Good job Mazda - 2003 Mazda MPV
By tassak - August 28 - 10:00 amConsidered Sienna, and Odyssey finally decided on the MPV for many reasons. Its smaller size is perfect for big city traffic, drives more like a car, and the new beefier engine is outstanding. Would highly recommend it, especially over Sienna and Odyssey since the owners of those have been posting many problems they have had with poor Customer Support (a definite no no).Buy it, youll be amazed.

5 yrs & 50K miles - 2003 Mazda MPV
By Lynda Marie - August 27 - 4:43 pmBought new and still love the van. None of the problems some others on this site seem to have; just new tires, oil changes and recommended maint. Still getting 20 mpg in town and about 25-26 hwy. (Yes, I do drive it nicely - most of the time.) Excellent size for running around town and adequate storage space for trips.

I lost my Manhood to Mazda - 2003 Mazda MPV
By A Man with a Van - July 22 - 10:00 amYea, well, my reputation is wrecked. Last Mazda I owned was an RX-7. Now this - a mini-van! I bought this minivan cause I loved it! I was suprised by the engine zip. Style is right, too. Keep in mind that Honda and Toyota dealers are stuck-up.
