Overview & Reviews
The MPV gets a facelift for 2004 that includes a new hood, headlamps, front fenders, grille, side skirts and alloy wheels. A rear air conditioner and four-wheel disc brakes are now standard.
- Compact and maneuverable, confident road manners, roll-down windows in the sliding doors.
- Lacks the passenger/cargo space and power found in competitors.

great van, great price - 2004 Mazda MPV
By eureka001 - February 8 - 10:00 amI pondered a while about which minivan to purchase and test drove Odyssey, Sienna and MPV. In the end I decided on MPV because of its size and its cost. MPVs size is just right - can fit a lot of stuff, but handling and parking is like that of a sedan. We had this van for a few weeks and its been great. It really is fun to drive. My wife, who was very worried about driving a minivan is perfectly comfortable with it now. So far I didnt notice any problems with the car (like mentioned missed gear shifts). Finally, it is 3-4 K cheaper to comparably equipped Odyssey!

Good buy - 2004 Mazda MPV
By AverageTim - January 27 - 6:56 pmWe have only had this MPV for 7 months but we love it. It was a great value with rebates at the time. It is right sized, has good performance, comfortable ride, and looks good. The transmission is the weak point as it does not shift smoothly. The 200 hp engine is good for its size and weight.

Great Bang for the Buck - 2004 Mazda MPV
By tlauro - January 14 - 2:00 amOur MPV has been great. We saw it as the best blend of performance, handling, styling and utility available for the money. The only issues thus far have been a jerking in the transmission on occasion. My understanding is that Mazda is aware and that there is a fix. We just have to bring it in. Overall, no major complaints. Build quality is excellent. No rattles or squeaks even!

Best minivan for small families! - 2004 Mazda MPV
By slw1123 - November 8 - 1:36 pmMy husband and I just purchased a used 2004 MPV with 18k miles on it. We have a 15 month old and are expecting another baby soon. The MPV has lots of space without being too boxy or too large. Its easy to get a toddler in/out of carseats in the 2nd row. It would be nice to have a tad more leg room/space between the front and 2nd row but its fine for kids. I love the cargo space and the "lay flat" 3 row seat. I also like the steering wheel radio controls and the center console that can be up or down. The handling of the MPV is awesome! Feels like youre driving a luxury car instead of a minivan. It turns smoothly and easily, accelerates beautifully (but Im a conservative Mommy).

Great Van For the Value - 2004 Mazda MPV
By mommyof3 - October 14 - 2:00 amMy husband and I love this van! We have the ES model that has leather which is great for clean-ups w/the little ones. Drives very smoothly. Very fun to drive. 0% financing was also a great deal. Not as roomy as other vans, but works well enough for us.

Zoom Zoom I love this Van!!!!! - 2004 Mazda MPV
By K.Hess - August 27 - 2:00 amTorn between the Odyssey and the MPV. My wife and I decided on the MPV. I am happy to say we made the right choice. although smaller then most of its counter-parts. This van definitely makes up for it in style, comfort, and other features(too many to name).

The best Minivan!! - 2004 Mazda MPV
By ehdesi - July 27 - 10:00 amJust purchased this loaded EX for $27K!!!! Other minivans we were interested in: Toyota Sienna 04 (have to wait 4 months and pay $34K) and Chrysler T&C limited 03 (we had a Dodge for 6 years). The MPV just felt right, smaller size, more nible handling, stylish (with GFX package), kids love it (6 & 9). Everyone has commented on it-saying how great it looks. You cannot go wrong here!!

We love our MPV - 2004 Mazda MPV
By FamilyValues - May 31 - 1:20 pmThe only thing that bothers me about this minivan is that you cant see the AC button on the dash because the shift bar blocks its view. Otherwise, I have never been this happy with any other pre-owned vehicle. I would upgrade to a newer vsersion without thinking twice when the time comes.

Dont buy Mazda - 2004 Mazda MPV
By NOtoMAZDA - May 28 - 10:00 amPurchased my minivan in 03, after researching several makes I thought the reviews for Mazda gave the impression it was a reliable Japanese quality minivan, was I wrong. After shelling out over $32000 with the Mazda assurance plan that it will provide a free loaner vehicle for warranty work, they make a real inconvience to get one and hit you with a copay. Warranty work is not done the 1st time and if they work on more it more than twice you are responsible for paying the warranty work not Mazda. I still have defects that were never fixed. Looking for new vehicle, it wont be a Mazda!!
