  • My old Sorento! - 2005 Kia Sorento
    By -

Great SUV for the money. In its 2nd year, I did have a problem with my heater not putting out hot air, with my leather wrapped steering wheel coming unraveled, and a prong on my fuse box breaking. The dealer has been no help getting these fixed--I took it to Cartown, got a rental car, and when I came back they said it was ready to go and everything was fixed. I got home and discovered NOTHING was fixed. :( The vehicle itself has been great--you can have little problems like this with any model of vehicle. The dealership has been pretty bad.

  • I love my Kia, BUT it has its problems - 2005 Kia Sorento

Ive had very little problems with my Kia, minor things at first which were fixed under warranty. My complaint is the rotors went out at 27,K miles, I dont think this is NORMAL. I had them turned, but it didnt help, so I had to get new ones, cost me almost $500.00 to get this fixed. The old ones are all rusty looking and Im upset. Im going to contact Kia and complain.I also have terrible paint chips which seem to happen over night, my fenders look bad.Its as though the paint is "soft". I think Ill complain about that too. My Dad was a mechanic so, I do understand the general workings of a auto.

  • well worth the money - 2005 Kia Sorento

A lot of extras on a highly capable 4x4 for a very good price. A Lexus 330 for at least $10,000 less. And a great warranty.

  • love escaping my Escape - 2005 Kia Sorento

I escaped my mistake . I love my Sorento. Have 2200 miles on it so far. The ride and fit are so much better than my 2003 Ford Escape. I feel much safer in this SUV. It sticks to the road better. I do wish it got better mileage. But its a small trade off. The sound system is pretty good to. I have added behind the seat pouches for my kids. The sunroof leaked the 1st week I had it and the dealer fixed it with no hassles at all.

  • Sold on Kia! - 2005 Kia Sorento

I found the Sorento to be very solid and smooth on the road. The controls are easy to reach and well laid out. I bought it for my wife and she loves it. Not too high, but high enough..not too big, but big enough. Its great! Within the price range, it has the most features, the longest warranty and looks the best of all of the other vehicles that we looked at. Coming out of a steep turn requires more manual input to straighten out than other cars I have owned. Its not bad, but noticeable. It is a little rough over bumps and rough roads, but not as bad as some, like the 05 Jeep Liberty that we looked at was worse. We like the tight suspension. This is our first Kia, but not our last!

  • Bulb issues constantly - 2005 Kia Sorento
    By -

I have had my Sorento for less than 3 years now and I have had to replace 11 bulbs between the low beam, high beam, tail lights, and brake lights. Each bulb averages $35 at the dealership to replace. If it is within 1 year, they replace at no cost. Of the 11 bulbs, 9 have lasted 14 months, which is not covered by the dealership. Something has got to be wrong, and they claim nothing. BULBS DO NOT GO OUT LIKE THIS!

Just purchased vehicle hard to judge quality and reliability at this time. Bought mostly for warranty.

  • Vermonters review - 2005 Kia Sorento

The vehicle is excellent in deep snow but I have had the 4WD fail once at about 40,000 miles and now the cruise has failed at 51,000. It is better on stability than any other 4WD that I have had and I do drive a lot of interstate at 65 mpg. The one other problem I find is the rear tailgate door is difficult to close with the pull down handle on the inside.

  • Nice price, great SUV - 2005 Kia Sorento
    By -

This is the best SUV for the money. It comes with all the bells and whistles you could possibly want in a vehicle without going overboard. Gas mileage like all SUVs is bad, but you would know this if you were looking at SUVs. The small complaints on this SUV are the rear speakers are weak sounding and the drivers floorboard is shallow for someone with bigger feet. The engine could use more beefing up! Overall, best SUV for the money.

  • powerful and roomy - 2005 Kia Sorento
    By -

I love my Sorento. The ride is comfortable and the speed is incredible, worth the fuel expense. I just had one problem with it; at 5,000 miles the spark plugs went bad on it and i was told by the dealership it was a regular "Kia" problem. I also dislike the green lighting on the dash and the CD player, it makes the interior look cheesy. Worth every penny though; it cost a total of $21,000 including the financing! The tiny Toyota Corolla costs the same! I could not find a better deal for a car with the options and power the Sorento gave me.
