  • I love my Sorento - 2005 Kia Sorento

I purchased my Sorento EX new 4 years and 80,000 miles ago and I still love it. I had no use for my minivan any longer, but didnt want to go back to a car. I have had no regrets since I drove off the lot with it. The only problem Ive had was my passenger seat air bag sensor stopped working and they replaced it of course at no charge. When this one wears out, I will get another one.

If only the fuel economy was a bit better, but it is still the best vehicle Ive owned. Lots of bells and whistles, great off road ability and just plain fun to drive. The great warranty, free oil changes for life, [only in Canada you say, O Canada] and a dealership that is great has made this the best I have ever experianced in the buying and owning of any auto.

Great car. Interior design is sturdy and practical. Have 4 kids made to fit for my family. Exterior very nice looking and many extras for not much money. Rough ride on dirt and bumpy roads but good trade off for other comforts of car. Excellent warranty. I liked the 3 tone EX, leather seats make it even nicer. Has nice features that were well thought out, Enjoy driving this SUV; it does drive very smooth on the open road (maybe top smooth, received several tickets lately). Will stick with this SUV for a long time. Very satisfied.

  • NOT for long haul commuters! - 2005 Kia Sorento
    By -

purchased this vehicle used in 8/2007 for a 3-day a week commute 40 miles each way (80 per day). after a month my foot started bothering me. after two months i was diagnosed with a stress fracture. laid up with no driving for a few months in a cast and get 80% better. back to work and within weeks am having same pain! have determined foot pain coincides with the purchase date of car. the gas pedal is in such an awkward position that my foot has to be at an unnatural angle. 2 hours a day at the angle and well, you have an injury!

i have owned this vehicle for only about 6 weeks and i love it. i am anxious to see how it handles in the winter weather. i compared the sorento to other suvs, mainly the hyundai sonata. the kia offered more options and quality for the price and it is easier to drive.

  • Great car for the money. - 2005 Kia Sorento

We drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a Toyota 4Runner. After 6 years and 100,000 miles on the Toyota I convinced my wife to trade it in. She was very reluctant. Never had a problem with it. We test drove several suvs and narrowed it down to the Nissan and the Kia. We really couldnt justify a $9,000 dollar difference. The cars rode exact. The only drawback was the resale value. We figured that with the great warranty the car should be built well enough to last. We didnt know what any one would think about us buying a Kia since we already own a $35,000 Jeep and a $45,000 BMW. Let me tell you that nobody can tell the difference between it and any other expensive suvs. Great buy for the money.

  • My new KIA - 2005 Kia Sorento

The new Kia Sorento we got on January 1, 2005 is the best SUV I have driven. We have a Ford Escape as well. The KIA is a better ride and is much better driving.

  • Great little vehicle. - 2005 Kia Sorento

My KIA replaced my old Ford Escape . The KIA rides better and has more power. I pull a 3400 pound boat with my KIA. The KIA has better road handling than the Escape . It has more pulling power at highway speed without down shifts. Over the last 8,000 miles we have averaged 19.2 MPG. This compared to the Escape is 3 MPG better. I have been told that we were working the Escape to the maximum where the KIA is under rated. I believe this is the difference in the 3.5L vs the 3.0L engine.

  • Dont buy a Kia - 2005 Kia Sorento

We bought a brand new 2005 Sorento and loved it. Within the first year, the brakes and rooters were replaced. The dealership replaced them 4 times, at our expense, then we took it to another mechanic and since then they have been fine. The motor has been replaced twice and is now at the dealership again after it just died in the middle of the road, and my husband and I had to push it off the road. Weve replaced every light in the car numerous times, at least 3-4 times a year. Its been in for oil leaks at least 3 times. The paint started chipping within the first year. Ill never ever buy another Kia.

Great SUV for the money. In its 2nd year, I did have a problem with my heater not putting out hot air, with my leather wrapped steering wheel coming unraveled, and a prong on my fuse box breaking. The dealer has been no help getting these fixed--I took it to Cartown, got a rental car, and when I came back they said it was ready to go and everything was fixed. I got home and discovered NOTHING was fixed. :( The vehicle itself has been great--you can have little problems like this with any model of vehicle. The dealership has been pretty bad.
