Cons:
  • Mediocre fuel economy, harsh ride over sharp bumps.

We are very excited to be the proud owners of a new 2005 Kia Sorento!!! We got a great deal on a great vehicle. We have the luxury package on our Sorento (nice leather and several extras). We have not been able to use the "snow" option yet as the weather has been mild this year. Everything works perfectly and we love the sun/moon roof. This is the first vehicle we have every owned with a sunroof. We look forward to several years of dependable service from our Sorento. Kia has strict maintenance policies to follow to insure the 10 year warranty and we plan to abide by their policy. A great luxury vehicle at a modest price.

This is truly a very nice SUV worth much, much more than what we paid for it. Eveyone comments on how it looks like the new Lexus SUVs. My husband purchased it for me as a Christmas gift. It is so comfortable to drive and easy to handle. I thought it would be a little hard to manage but it rides very well. If you are thinking about buying one - do it! You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic looks, and quality, purchased mine after rebates for under 20 grand, LX auto with lots of accessories. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a midsize SUB and on a budget. Decent gas mileage; I get 21 on highway drives and about 15.5 in city.

My vehicle has been in the shop almost 10 times in the last year and a half. Fun vehicle to drive but I am really tired of taking it into the shop for problems. The Kia service center at my dealership is also AWFUL! I left a message last Monday with the service manager in regards to some carpet that he had ordered for me in June (yes I have a nice hole in my carpet in my brand new car!) and I still have not received a return call. Not to mention that I have been waiting almost 4 months for them to replace the carpet.

  • Solid car for the money - 2005 Kia Sorento

We purchased our Sorento new and have since put 110,000+ miles on it. It has held up well. Overall it has been very reliable and a good car to drive. We chose it based primarily on its styling as at the time it did not look like other SUVs. It still stands out in a sea of sameness. Fuel economy is not great but I consistently average 20 mpg per fill up. I have experience some of the electrical gremlins shared by others including multiple head light changes. I had to replace a diode to get the interior light to go on in the "Door" position. The A/C died recently.

  • KIA = GARBAGE - 2005 Kia Sorento

This vehicle has had more issues than I know what to do with. Mostly electrical problems. It has been to the dealer for A/C issues 3 times. Eventually having the entire dashboard ripped out and a new harness put in. I have to buy headlights and taillights all the time. So bad that I keep a spare set in the car at all times. It experiences loss of power all the time and the transmission does not engage when in reverse sometimes. The car has had all maintenance done on or before its due. Factory radio also died right after buying it. Service departments are are the worst. Above all the resale value is absolutely horrible. If you buy one, enjoy it b/c you will be stuck with it. Absolute garbage

  • What A Buy and Great Car!! - 2005 Kia Sorento

We just purchased out Kia Sorento and WOW!, do you we love it. We traded in our 2002 Honda Accord EX and dont miss it at all. The ride to us is equal to the Honda and no rattles, etc. yet to be heard. Great warranty and we hope to keep this one a few years.

Great performance. Reasonable gas mileage. A lot of vehicle for the money. Good secure feeling brakes. Hugs curves well. Excellently designed with passengers in mind.

  • I would never buy another new car... - 2005 Kia Sorento
    By -

I work around some of the most exotic automobiles in the industry, and I can honestly say I get excited every time I climb in my 06 Kia Sorento. With a value package which includes more standard features than any of the competition, quality ratings handed down from Kias parent company - up and coming Hyundai, an unheard of 60K mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, industry leading 100K mile powertrain warranty, unique styling dubbing the Sorento as the "baby Lexus RX 300", and a price that will turn your head ... buyers remorse is a thing of the past. I love the fact that you dont see too many Sorentos on the road. Everyone keeps asking me what it is, or thinks Im driving an exotic!
