Overview & Reviews
The optional sport package now includes blacked-out headlamps and, on LX models, a premium audio system. A five-speed automatic transmission replaces last year's four-speed unit.
- Great value, long list of standard features, high-quality interior materials, solid construction, true off-road capability, lengthy warranty coverage.
- Mediocre fuel economy, harsh ride over sharp bumps.

My Sorento - 2005 Kia Sorento
By Shellarela - April 12 - 12:36 amI love my Sorento. I did a lot of research before buying and it was by far the best value for the money. Its a beautiful vehicle, I get a lot of compliments and inquiries. The luxury package includes everything the higher end SUVs have for a lot less money.

Got this for Christmas and Love It!!!! - 2005 Kia Sorento
By Princess - March 11 - 12:13 amMy husband gave this to me as a Christmas gift and it is the best gift ever! I had a 2004 Kia Optima and loved it and I wanted to stay with the Kia family. I love my Sorento even though I intially thought an SUV would be too big and awkward to drive but I needed something bigger - more room. The warranty is one of the best out there. It handles just like a car so I dont feel like I am driving this big piece of machinery. It looks far more $$$$ than it really is. Several people thought it was a Lexus or Acura! Looks way better than those to me!

Buy one while theyre still cheap - 2005 Kia Sorento
By TL - October 17 - 9:40 pmBest highway mileage 22.5 from RI to PA. Average mixed highway/city 18mpg. Worst mileage 15 - I drove it hard off every light, ramp etc. I have averaged as high as 60,000 miles per year, driving mostly GM vehicles. You cant compare this to a Trailblazer, its twice as nice at half the price. The $20,000 I saved buys a lot of gas. Mines a fully loaded EX with almost every aftermarket option Kia offers. Plenty of torque, power to spare. This car wants to run. Baby the pedal on take-offs, let the transmission do the work. Back off on the gas pedal just before it shifts for a little for a smoother shift and watch the gas mileage climb too.

I love my Sorento - 2005 Kia Sorento
By cindy - September 26 - 10:23 amI purchased my Sorento EX new 4 years and 80,000 miles ago and I still love it. I had no use for my minivan any longer, but didnt want to go back to a car. I have had no regrets since I drove off the lot with it. The only problem Ive had was my passenger seat air bag sensor stopped working and they replaced it of course at no charge. When this one wears out, I will get another one.

My Kia - 2005 Kia Sorento
By bobtutton - August 27 - 6:56 pmIf only the fuel economy was a bit better, but it is still the best vehicle Ive owned. Lots of bells and whistles, great off road ability and just plain fun to drive. The great warranty, free oil changes for life, [only in Canada you say, O Canada] and a dealership that is great has made this the best I have ever experianced in the buying and owning of any auto.

My new KIA - 2005 Kia Sorento
By John Hawker - June 20 - 5:26 amThe new Kia Sorento we got on January 1, 2005 is the best SUV I have driven. We have a Ford Escape as well. The KIA is a better ride and is much better driving.

First time Kia owner - 2005 Kia Sorento
By Charles Xikes - May 12 - 9:53 amI was a little unsure when I bought my Sorento but it has turned out to be a very good vehicle. Since purchase we have only had a headlight adjusted, nothing else. Value, features, styling, fit. quality materials are all there for thousands less than most other comparable SUVs. I would not hesitate to buy another.
