This Year's Model Updates:

Minor upgrades are in store for the Sedona in its second year on the market. On the outside, buyers will find new taillights, and in the cabin, you'll note a new audio faceplate and a remote fuel-door release. The LX model gets a CD player, while the EX now comes with two keyless remotes, as well as additional leather on the armrests and lower portions of the seats. A trailer hitch is now available for all Sedonas.

Pros:
  • Excellent value, lots of cupholders and storage bins, solid build quality, good crash test scores, lengthy warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Hefty curb weight, below-average gas mileage, missing a few key minivan features, potentially expensive to repair in minor collisions.

  • Great Buy - 2003 Kia Sedona

I must admit I was leary about buying a KIA but I must say I am very pleased with my vehicle to date. Ive only had Sedona EX one month so far and have put on 1200 miles but his has been superb. The mpg is low...Im averaging about 19-20 city but what minivans or SUVs get great mpg anyway? The mpg has to do with the vehicle weight [on average a 1,000lbs heavier than other vans] and I am more than willing to sacrifice paying a few more $ on gas than give up a 5 Star saftey rating. I did a lot of reasearch on mini vans and this is by far the best value IMHO.

  • My First Kia minivan - 2003 Kia Sedona

This minivan has all the things youd want in a family vehicle. My Sedona EX came with leather, power seats, abs, am/fm cassette, cd 6 speaker stereo, plenty of cup holders and all for about 20 grand. The performance from the 3.5L V6 engine is excellent. You can feel the torque at low rpms move you along quickly, making it fun to drive. So far after 3000 miles my Sedona has had no problems whatsoever. I shoped around and for could not find anything close to it value wise. The great warranty of 10 year / 100,000 miles on drivetrain makes it a no brainer.

  • This Kia van is awesome!! - 2003 Kia Sedona

I really love the way it drives and feels on the road. And the features are much nicer compared to the 99 Sienna CE I leased for 4 years for $450 per month. I am now a proud owner of an EX Sedona with leather, sunroof, ABS and even a spoiler for only $446 per month, PURCHASED!! I cant be happier. And the service department is one of the best. Overall I am very happy with the whole purchase experience and I think this is the best minivan ever made.

  • Great van at a great price - 2003 Kia Sedona
    By -

This is my first Kia and my first minivan and I am impressed. I walked into the dealership with everything researched and walked out with just what i wanted at the price i wanted to pay. I am impressed with the vehicle. It runs great and is very comfortable. the only thing i can see i dont like is the gas mileage. It is lower than most other minivans, but i guess you cant have everything. I would definely recommend this Vehicle.

Plenty of power. Good handling. Excellent seat comfort for long drives. Great options. Can hold 7 adults. Average fuel economy. Built in garage door opener. Rear air/heat that can be controlled by the person setting in the back seat.

  • So Far, So Good - 2003 Kia Sedona

I was a little emarassed at first about having a Kia, but now enough people have ridden in it and had nice things to say about it that I am glad I bought it. Its actually a beautiful looking van, and the interior has unique styling and the controls are laid out smartly. I have had no mechanical problems with it. The ride feels great. The only problem I had was I took it to the car wash and spayed water on the bumper where it was pretty dirty, and a little bit of the paint just flew off. But the Kia dealer had it repainted without any questions or arguments.

  • The Kia Sedona - 2003 Kia Sedona

The Kia Sedona is the best mini van on the market. I purchased the van last year and since I purchased it my wife (who does not like to drive) has driven it more than I have. I am thinking about purchasing another Kia Sedona.

  • One year and still love it... - 2003 Kia Sedona

Heres an update from something other than a new owner. Initial quality was excellent, we had no issues on delivery. After just over 12,000 miles, we have also had no problems of any kind, are very happy with the van Three oil changes are the extent of the maintenance -- its held alignment, belts are in great shape, paint and finish still excellent. Multiple 4-6 hour road trips with the whole family, with the A/C going most of the way in 100+ F heat, and remains one of the most comfortable travel cars Ive owned. I just got 23 MPG averaging 76MPH with the A/C on the whole way on a trip to Vegas -- what am I doing different than the EPA?
