This Year's Model Updates:

Kia joins the minivan rumble with the introduction of the Sedona, the lowest-priced minivan in America. Standard on the Sedona are such niceties as air conditioning, power windows, cruise control and auto on/off headlights. Upscale EX models get a CD player, interior wood trim and power front seats. All Sedonas benefit from Kia's impressive Long Haul Warranty with drivetrain protection for 10 years or 100,000 miles.

Pros:
  • Unbeatable price, attractive array of standard goodies, great warranty package.
Cons:
  • Missing some key minivan features, engine could use more power.

  • Alaska Highway Ready! - 2002 Kia Sedona
    By -

I bought a Kia Sedona EX, leather, sunroof, ABS included, in May 2002. That summer I drove it from Wisconsin to my home in Alaska. The following year I drove it down to Iowa and back to AK again. On both trips I was towing a small cargo trailer and the Kia had plenty of power. My wife and I, along with two teenage girls and a dog made each trip. Believe me the Alaska Highway will test any road vehicle and the Sedona performed great. I have had ZERO PROBLEMS with the vehicle.I would make the same purchase again without hesitation.

  • Kias First van is a sucess - 2002 Kia Sedona

This van has been such a blessing. We needed to get an affordable van that was able to have a wheelchair lift installed, we had no idea that it was going to be such a great van. It was very comfortable, great visibility. We have only had 1 problem in the 6 years that we have had it, and it was still under warranty when the A/C went bad. Oh great Warranty too. We have a lot of experience with Kia since the sedona, would recommend any of the 10 models to people.

  • Problems with Warranties - 2002 Kia Sedona
    By -

Has anyone had problems with noises in the front end? We are wating for a Arbitration Department to contact us as we cannot find out where the noise is coming from. According to the dealer, Kia is trying to find the source, but at this time there is not a fix. If they cannot find a fix, how do we know it is not a safety hazzard. The dealer stated it is not a hazzard. The dealer gave up looking for it, but they know the noise is there. We were suppose to be contacted today, but so far, no calls or letters. Is this warranty any good. I guess time will tell. We have other rattles, but the dealer said to wait on them to find the main noise.

Every this about this van is very good except the gas peddal. It is very light and should be replaced.

  • Great Kia - 2002 Kia Sedona

Just got my Kia and have no problems as of yet. Runs great. About a million options come with it standard. The only funny thing about the Kia is the engine looks like a lawn mower engine, but other then that it is a great Mini van for a great price. Oh yeah It comes with a for real spare tire.

  • Good so far - 2002 Kia Sedona

We have about 1,600 miles on her. She drives great. You can end up going too fast on the interstate because she rides very smooth and quit. My wife loves it. Kids think there riding in 1st class seat of a airliner! Cant beat for the money. Great warranty!

  • A great minivan for the money - 2002 Kia Sedona

This minivan offers almost all of the features standard as its competitors for thousands less. The ride is smooth and quiet. It has a very heavy build. Quality and power are very acceptable.

Definitely the best buy for the features offered! Comfortable ride, spacious, versatile!

  • The 2002 Kia Sedona - 2002 Kia Sedona

This minivan offers more value than any other on the market. Fully loaded, the Sedona does not exceed $24,000. Yet, it has a 5 star crash test rating, leather seats, abs, sunroof and more. The build quality is very impressive. And, the warranty is the best on the market. If you can do without the power doors and fold down seats, you should give it a test drive. Do, and you will buy it.

  • Front end knock that wont stop knocking - 2002 Kia Sedona
    By -

This is 2001 Sedona. The car has had the following problems: winshield washer tank leaking, faulty gas gauge, air leakage/whistling sound from the moon roof area and worst yet we have a prevalent knock in the front suspension. The dealers technician played dumb with suspension knock and moonrooof leak. The car was back for an entire day, they didnt have either part (fuel send unit not winshield wash tank) and the technician said there was no problem w/ moonroof and front end knock. That is until I insisted we go for a test drive. Then all of a sudden his ears starting working. Two more service dates corrected all the problems except front end knock. They have no answer for it.
