Overview & Reviews
All 2004 Jeep Libertys now feature a passenger-side grab handle and a power accessory delay feature, while Renegade models get additional rock rail protection and black accent body side moldings. New options include UConnect, Chrysler's hands-free in-vehicle communication system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a cargo organizer. Safety is enhanced thanks to a system that unlocks doors, illuminates interior courtesy lights and shuts off the fuel pump after airbag deployment. A new trim -- the Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition -- has been introduced, offering 16-inch graphite-painted aluminum wheels; graphite-painted fascias and body moldings; body-colored fender flares; a sun roof; fog lamps; and Columbia badging.
- Extremely capable off-road, creative interior design, still a Jeep at heart.
- Thirsty at the gas pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

Daimler Chrysler - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Poisson - April 6 - 2:00 amI have a sister who has owned Mercedes for the past 40 years. You would not believe how much Mercedes is in my Liberty. Even the ride is comparable to Mercedes. It feels so tight. Now Im looking to buy a Liberty diesel, as mileage is not very good.

First week impression - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By pumposo - April 1 - 10:00 amAfter having driven the much larger Chevy Trailblazer for the past three years, its literally refreshing to drive this vehicle. This is my first Jeep and I have no regrets. While I do miss the cushy ride of the TB, I certainly feel much more comfortable in this Jeep. I actually feel more secure going off road with it.

transmission shudder - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Col Tomb - March 21 - 10:00 amBeware of the dreaded Chrysler transmission shudder in cruise. -seems its quite common. Its the wifes car and she doesnt object to it. If Id known about it, I wouldnt have bought the car.

My chubby jeep - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Al Marino - January 5 - 2:00 amNeeds more off the line ompf and a smoother ride. Led tail lights would be nice, as well as wider tires, but as they say ; cars are built, not made. Thank god for the aftermarket.

Never Again - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By mellen40 - August 30 - 2:00 amI asked to try a manual 6 cyl. I went for a ride around the block. It was sweet. The purchase went wrong from the start.Getting on the interstae, it could not get up to speed to blend into traffic. My heart was in my throat. Chris Myers exchanged the oops 4 cyl. they sold to me as a 6 cyl. I havent been satisfied since. Ive had difficulty with the back hatch doorlock since I bought it. They "fixed it" but still wont unlock at times. The purchase agreement was to have a roof rack installed that I could leave on or remove as I wanted. They put on a skimpy aftermarket roof rack screwed to the roof. It looks sad!
