Overview & Reviews
All 2004 Jeep Libertys now feature a passenger-side grab handle and a power accessory delay feature, while Renegade models get additional rock rail protection and black accent body side moldings. New options include UConnect, Chrysler's hands-free in-vehicle communication system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a cargo organizer. Safety is enhanced thanks to a system that unlocks doors, illuminates interior courtesy lights and shuts off the fuel pump after airbag deployment. A new trim -- the Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition -- has been introduced, offering 16-inch graphite-painted aluminum wheels; graphite-painted fascias and body moldings; body-colored fender flares; a sun roof; fog lamps; and Columbia badging.
- Extremely capable off-road, creative interior design, still a Jeep at heart.
- Thirsty at the gas pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

2004 Liberty Sport - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Babyjinks - March 23 - 2:00 amI love my Libert! It is cute sporty and goes everywhere I need it to go. I feel safe and secure driving it and it is the perfect size for me not so small that it feels like a car and not so large that it feels like a bus.

By BOB DEBOW - March 11 - 10:00 amHAVE OWNED AND WORKED WITH MANY DIFFERENT SUVS.WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF JEEP LIBERTY.DOES VERY WELL IN DEEP SNOW AND OFF ROAD.WAS SURPRISED HOW MUCH THIS LITTLE SUV WEIGHS.THAT WOULD EXPLAIN WHY IT IS SO GOOD IN ROUGH ROAD CONDITION.IT SHOULD HAVE A LITTLE TOUGHER TIRE THOUGH FROM THE FACTORY.OEM TIRES COAUSED IT TO SLIDE A LITTLE ON WET ROAD CONDITIONS.CHANGED TIRES TO A LITE TRUCK TYPE TIRE AND NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH WET ROADS.GREAT VEHICL IN MY OPINION. gr8truck - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By newjeepowner - February 2 - 2:00 amI love the feel of driving this car and the ability to switch to 4WD when I need it. Was considering a Honda CRV but glad I made this choice. Headroom is good, plenty of room for child car seat(s when necessary) and it hauls what I need. Very comfortable except the shape of the seat back. Everything is in the right spot.

Love My Liberty - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Golga - January 23 - 10:00 amMy 2003 Liberty Limited is a great vehicle. Gets me any where I need to go on the snowy roads of Western Pennsylvania. I don;t have to worry about it. I trade a 1993 Cherokee Sport in on the Libery, and had no complaints about it. But the Liberty is a more cushy Jeep. I LOVE it.

Fuel Mileage? - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Joe B. - January 2 - 10:23 amJust bought with 103,000 on the clock. 15 mpg at first. NGK spark plugs looked like originals, burned to .085"+ gap. Replaced with Bosch Platinums, replaced air filter with K&N, cruise 60MPH or less and use cruise on even slower long straight stretches such as 45 zones that go forever for no obvious reason. Lightfoot starts and stops and I get 21 mpg now. Runs and drives like new. I am happy with it. If I need more mileage I drive the Honda Accord. I dont expect much better mileage from a Jeep. I just expect it to perform when I need it.
