All 2004 Jeep Libertys now feature a passenger-side grab handle and a power accessory delay feature, while Renegade models get additional rock rail protection and black accent body side moldings. New options include UConnect, Chrysler's hands-free in-vehicle communication system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a cargo organizer. Safety is enhanced thanks to a system that unlocks doors, illuminates interior courtesy lights and shuts off the fuel pump after airbag deployment. A new trim -- the Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition -- has been introduced, offering 16-inch graphite-painted aluminum wheels; graphite-painted fascias and body moldings; body-colored fender flares; a sun roof; fog lamps; and Columbia badging.

Our 04 Liberty (Libo) - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Randy - June 7 - 5:16 amOn Sunday May 30, 2005 after 4 days of online research I found the Jeep Liberty. I thought it would work for our situation. I test drove an 05 Sport on May 29. It was a basic model and those seats were flat and hard. Not to mention the price without 4WD or option even with discounts and low interest & incentives. I continued my research. I found an 04 Liberty, Columbia edition 4WD on an internet special & $10K less than a new one and it only had 12,900 miles. It was put in service March 04 and traded in on May 5th of 05. Lucky me. I walked out the door with the Libo for $17,000, warranties and ttl included. Shop the internet the deals are out there. We luv the Libo.

miss my liberty - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By stretchlp - March 25 - 9:49 ami bought my liberty used with 140k on it. put 34,000 miles on it in one year (90% highway miles). it always gave me a smooth ride. she was so fun to drive, and so reliable. i had to replace the transfer case, as well as the front differential, but considering i drove in one year what most people do in 3, it was well worth it. sadly, a week after getting it back from the repairs, i flipped her. she did a complete barrel roll, and kept me safe. didnt have a scratch on me, though i wish the same could be said for the jeep. in any event, she kept me safe and was a fun, reliable vehicle, who was capable off-road. i will miss mine dearly, and would HIGHLY recommend one!

Sluggish and Jerky - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By jjbigs - February 26 - 6:06 pmI love the look but hate the performance. At slow speeds it lurches when you step on the gas. Climbing and hill in goes to a higher gear instead of downshifting. At all other times, it is fun to drive and very comfortable. Looks good on the road. Even with the sound upgrade, the stereo is poor.

Great buy for the money - 2004 Jeep Liberty

This is my fourth Jeep, and with my Liberty, I have not run into some of the problems I had with prior ones. There was one window leak recall, but other than that, it has been smooth sailing. There are some great features with the Jeep, and I especially love the responsive handling and added features. Its fun to drive and very safe feeling. Its comfortable from the front seat or back and has good cargo room if you arent trying to bring home large furniture or more than one stroller. All Ive ever done is routine maintenance, no other break-downs or problems!

By edman - July 17 - 10:26 amFirst time owner of a Jeep, test drove the Wrangler but the ride is too much for daily driving. The Liberty gave me a great alternative. I have a Honda CR-V w/ AWD but I missed the control of a manual true 4WD. Bought the car used as a second family car but loved it so much it became my primary form of transportation. I love this SUV, my wife drives the Honda now.

By KILEY - May 26 - 2:00 amI REALLY LIKE THE JEEP LIBERTY THAT I BOUGHT. I HAVE THE FREEDOM EDITION AND MAN IT LOOKS SHARP. I LIKE THE 17" TIRES AND RIMS, LOVE THE HALF CLOTH AND LEATHER FEATURE. THE ONLY DRAW BACK IS THAT I STEPPED OUT OF A 5.7 LITER V8 CHEVY INTO A 3.7 LITER V6 AND MAN DO I MISS THE POWER WHEN IT COMES TO PASSING PEOPLE AT 70 PLUS MILES PER HOUR. BUT HEY I DID HEAR A RUMOR THAT THEY PLAN ON BUILDING A NEWER MODEL WITH A 2 DOOR BODY AND A BIGGER ENGINE. ITS THATS TRUE I MAY HAVE TO UPGRADE FOR THAT ONE. I WOULD BUY THIS ONE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SPORTY BUT PRACTICAL SPORT UTILITY... ENJOY YOURS LIKE I HAVE..

By chewysolo - March 14 - 10:00 amMe & My wife test drove the grand cherokee and the liberty and we both loved the liberty. It feels like it has more power than the cherokee, and the leg room is about the same. It also has more head room. the only thing you lose is cargo space.Plus you can get the liberty limited edition with almost all options for about the same price as a base model cherokee. Theres also plenty of after market upgrades out ther if you like Decking out your ride like I do.

By Green Eyes - January 18 - 2:00 amI have had my Jeep Liberty for two weeks and I love it. I had a Wrangler and loved that, too, but I feel safer in the Liberty since it feels stronger and heavier. The interior is very comfortable and the exterior still maintains a jeep look. I would suggest an interior button or switch for the rear window so I would not have to rely on the remote control.
