This Year's Model Updates:

All 2004 Jeep Libertys now feature a passenger-side grab handle and a power accessory delay feature, while Renegade models get additional rock rail protection and black accent body side moldings. New options include UConnect, Chrysler's hands-free in-vehicle communication system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a cargo organizer. Safety is enhanced thanks to a system that unlocks doors, illuminates interior courtesy lights and shuts off the fuel pump after airbag deployment. A new trim -- the Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition -- has been introduced, offering 16-inch graphite-painted aluminum wheels; graphite-painted fascias and body moldings; body-colored fender flares; a sun roof; fog lamps; and Columbia badging.

Pros:
  • Extremely capable off-road, creative interior design, still a Jeep at heart.
Cons:
  • Thirsty at the gas pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

Just got the new Liberty. I have only owned Jeeps my whole life. From the Wrangler to the Cherokee to the Grand Cherokee. This is a great vehicle that not only is economical to purhase but has the great engine that wont ever die.

build quality is on par with Japanese, tight off road, no rattles, rides smooth on rough road. Switch gear feels solid, leather is of very good quality, vehicle just feels very solid. on par or better then a bmw x5 comparing interior trim.

  • Once I had a Wrangler.....Now a Liberty! - 2004 Jeep Liberty

With a wife and two children, a Wrangler was no longer an option. I love the entire Jeep line. Living in the Northeast, the winters have become colder with more snow than I can remember! The Long Island beaches are tamed by the Libertys 4x4 suspension, 3.7 V6 engine, and 10.1 inch clearance. The interior is more "grown-up" and functional for family life than my 97 Wrangler. Jeep has another winner!

  • Very Satisfied - 2004 Jeep Liberty

I drive about 80 miles a day to and from work. Even driving 70 MPH to and from work, I average 19 MPG. I have taken it offroad (mostly on hard and soft packed roads) in southern Utah and it performs very well. I wished the rear seats folded flat (as in the PT Cruiser). Only real complaint: lack of cubby holes to store odds and ends. I did replace the tires within 200 miles of new with a slightly larger set.

I love my Jeep Liberty. It was my 3rd Jeep after the Cherokee Sport and Grand Cherokee. It has a great turning radius and allowed me to parallel park in small places near campus. It has alot of pep to merge onto freeways or pass others. I lived in Wisconsin where we get 12 in. of snow and my Jeep got me safely to my destination every time. 4x4 is easy to use. I use for camping and hauling my bike. Fit 3 little nieces and nephews in the back. I replaced brakes around 30,000, but was doing alot of city driving at the time. Replaced brakes again at 109,000. The only other repair was a new water pump and serpentine belt at 95,000 miles. Im going to miss my Jeep when I switch to a car.

  • 2 Jeep Family - 2004 Jeep Liberty

This is the 2nd Jeep weve purchased used. The Liberty is quite an upgrade from our 97 Wrangler - Its a Jeep. You know it when you see it. It drives like a Jeep, not a Cadillac! From the test drive, I knew I wanted it, as it drove just like our older Jeep except with leather seats. Its fun, dependable and built like a tank. Yes, you do sit up high which gives you a commanding vision of the road. My 6 foot tall husband has no problems getting in, out, or driving it for business. He loves it! 2 years left in another lease car and soon our family will be a "3 Jeep Family" - If youre looking for a luxury suv, go pay 3 times more, if you want good looks and dependability, pick a Jeep Liberty!

  • I love my 2004 Jeep Liberty!!! - 2004 Jeep Liberty

I just want to say before I got my Jeep Liberty, I was afraid of SUVs. But now, when I drive it, I feel so safe. Its really fun to drive, and was affordable compared to other SUVs I had in mind, but maybe that was because they were in the mid-size to large range of SUVs and my beautiful little Liberty is in the compact category. It comes with a lot of features, and is also rated five-stars in safety rating.

Weve had our 2004 Limited 4WD Liberty now for 8 months now and have had great success with it! fun to drive... handles the road well... especially those off the beaten path. great cargo room and easy to maintain. my only complaint is that the glove compartment is so small, you can barely fit the manual in there! other than that... the liberty is awesome!

  • best car made - 2004 Jeep Liberty
