Overview & Reviews
All 2004 Jeep Libertys now feature a passenger-side grab handle and a power accessory delay feature, while Renegade models get additional rock rail protection and black accent body side moldings. New options include UConnect, Chrysler's hands-free in-vehicle communication system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a cargo organizer. Safety is enhanced thanks to a system that unlocks doors, illuminates interior courtesy lights and shuts off the fuel pump after airbag deployment. A new trim -- the Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition -- has been introduced, offering 16-inch graphite-painted aluminum wheels; graphite-painted fascias and body moldings; body-colored fender flares; a sun roof; fog lamps; and Columbia badging.
- Extremely capable off-road, creative interior design, still a Jeep at heart.
- Thirsty at the gas pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

Not Pleased - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By BT - September 15 - 9:10 amFront ball joints went bad causing excessive wear on new (expensive!) tires, power steering / crank case problems, split hoses, calipers locking up and wearing new brake pads down - black, sooty substance all over hubcaps from brake pad burn. Transmission (auto) sometimes slams into gear unexpectedly during stop & start traffic situations.

Driving Excitement - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By platinumgal - August 24 - 10:00 amThe Liberty is fun to drive and easy to maneuver in and out of traffic. Very sharp, responsive steering and brakes! A great buy. This car made driving fun again.

Awesome - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Robert LaBrance - August 12 - 2:00 amThis is the best vehicle I have ever bought. It has great pickup and off- road capability. I highly recommend it to anyone. I traded in my Xterra for it and it was the best auto purchase I have ever done.

Love my Jeep! - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Barb Topaz - August 12 - 2:00 amMy last Jeep was a 1994 Wrangler... loved that Jeep! However, Im in sales and wanted a nicer looking vehicle to arrive at clients in. Last March we checked out the Liberty for my husband but he had his heart set on an Xterra. This Jan I decided that I had to have a Renegade!

Got the 2004 - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Brad Lepelley - July 18 - 7:56 amWe looked at many vehicles; Tribute, Escape..etc. When we were done with everything we decided to go with the Jeep. Good price, service and reliability. It drives like a SUV, not a car. Thats what attracted us to it. The Mazda was cheap sounding. The Liberty was solid. It does seem to have a slight hesitation when accelerating around 35- 40 range. Other than that, its everything we could have wished for.

GO LIBERTY! - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By CKolaris - June 30 - 2:00 amWhen the Liberty first came out I was optimistic about its look and overtime it grew on me and I eventually took one for a test drive and feel in love with it. It has the fun and ruggedness of the wrangler and the luxury comfort of the grand cherokee. I have taken my liberty off road and I am much more impressed with its handeling than the wrangler , not to mention that it is much better on gas.

Give Me Liberty - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Kimobean - May 25 - 2:00 amSpunky SUV that grips the road and trails. Switched to the Liberty from a Chevy Suburban. Love the size when it comes to parking, but plenty of room for me and both kids. b

2004 Renegade an excellent choice - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By JAURS - May 25 - 2:00 amI recently purchased my 2004 fully- loaded Jeep Liberty Renegade 4X4 on 10/31/03. It is an awesome vehicle with an excellent ride, nice interior, rugged good-looks and excellent off- road ability. The ride is very smooth and the steering is precise. I cant say enough about how impressed I am with the vehicle. I dont know why Edmunds states that it doesnt have a "car-like" ride. To me the ride is very smooth. The Liberty is in a class of its own. The Escape, XTerra, Rav 4, and CR-V, among others cant match the distinctive look and capability of a Jeep. Go test drive one, youll be impressed.
