This Year's Model Updates:

For the 2003 Jeep Liberty, a new overhead console, based on that of the Grand Cherokee, includes a unique interface that allows passengers to program the operation of nine convenience and safety items to their own preference. Liberty owners can now personalize several features, including which doors unlock with the first press of the remote keyless entry unlock button, the miles driven between service intervals and the amount of time the headlamps remain on when exiting the vehicle. Finally, an available six-disc in-dash CD player replaces the cargo area mounted unit. Standard four-wheel disc brakes endow the Jeep with improved brake feel on-road, decreased stopping distances and reduced brake fade. Available electrochromic interior and driver-side rearview mirrors help reduce headlight glare from traffic at night, and standard sliding sun visors have been added, which serve to keep the sun out of your eyes by providing added windshield and side glass coverage.

Pros:
  • Extremely capable off-road, creative interior design, still a Jeep at heart.
Cons:
  • Thirsty at the gas pump, not as "carlike" as most of its competitors.

Hands down the best Small Ute out there. It may not have good on-road manners to match that of its competitors, but it shines once the paved road ends. It also has the biggest engine out of all its competitors, and can actually TOW up to 5000 lbs. The Exterior styling is a bit on the cute side, but it is unique, and classic at the same time. The interior look is hands down THE best out of all its competitors. Space is a bit on the tight side, but if you are creative enough, you can fit it. I just love driving this thing, on and off road.

Ive owned this truck for just about one year and i love it.The only one problem i had was the a/c compressor went out. Thats it. Other than that its been great Great gas mileage. My average between hwy. and town is 20.5. i say a little above average. My family and i love it.

My personal opinion is the Jeep Liberty is way better than the Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, Hyndai Santa Fe. I have owned a 93 Jeep Cherokee. It is a "Classic" and in good condition.

I had the Renegade in "Extreme" Off- Road conditions, and it performed above and beyond what I expected. Most of the time I didnt even need to use the 4- Wheel Drive system. Heres a hint though:In the owners manual , it tells you to remove the side step/running boards. You best do it !!They knew what they were talking about.

80,000 miles on the first set of tires. Love the selec trac transmission. Absolutely no problems so far only routine maintenance. Love the heated seats and moonroof. Lots of storage space inside. Heater will cook you and A/C will freeze you. Had an 89 cherokee that I sold at 265,000 miles. Hoping to make this one last as long too.

We have owned a Liberty for 6 mos now and love it! Its fun and easy to get about anywhere you want to go. The only two things that I consider a drawback is gas mileage and no handle on the back flip up window. Of course it doesnt drive like a luxury car but remember its a JEEP!

We have 3 Libertys in our family. All have been very dependable and have only been back to the dealer for scheduled services. I highly recommend this vehicle to anyone in the market for a real SUV.

  • I would not buy another jeep liberty - 2003 Jeep Liberty

For the young and adventures, yes. I find it to be a rough ride especially long drives, it uses alot of gas and I dont find it to be very comfortable.

A great looking car, with a solid ride and aggresive style. A great car for weekend drives and offroading.
