An all-new diesel engine option makes its debut for the 2005 Jeep Liberty. Exterior appearance changes this year include a new front fascia, grille, foglamps, fender flares and body side moldings. Interior upgrades include relocated power window switches, new instrument panel cluster graphics and trim bezels and improved seat comfort. The Renegade model gets a flatter hood, taller grille, off-road foglamps and taillamp guards, as well as functional rock rails and four skid plates. A new six-speed manual transmission replaces last year's five-speed unit.

- Gas engines are rather thirsty at the pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors, less cargo space than some of its competitors.

By Kori-j - May 20 - 10:00 amThe body is rugged. The interior of the Jeep Liberty Limited is comfortable, but can be a little small for anyone over 510". It offers power heated seats as well as heated side view mirrors and engine block.

Well loved Liberty - 2005 Jeep Liberty
By Love my liberty - April 30 - 6:53 pmWe have had our Liberty for about 2 months and I love it!We got the color that we wanted and a 6 speed manual transmission, which is rare. When we bought it, the reason was that I needed a small SUV with 4x4 for our lovely CO winters that sometimes play jokes on traffic. In the short time that we have had it we have only had a flat tire which was my fault. Our fuel economy has been wonderful!! Better than my husband expected at about 25- 29 mpg depending on how much I put my foot into it. It has also helped us get out on the weekends for family outings. Taking the dog is easy, too. Maybe we have great luck with this SUV, but it is well made and tons of fun to drive!

Fun Ride - 2005 Jeep Liberty
By NFM - April 17 - 5:00 pmI loved the look of the Liberty Renegade vs the Sport and Limited. Stick with the V6, I find it to have better pick-up. Best way to go on this vehicle is when its fully loaded. Only mistake I made was getting it in black since it looks like its always dirty (but hey its a Jeep right? Thats what gives it its character!) Very comfortable ride on pavement.

By She - March 17 - 9:43 pmGreat SUV; not great on gas and with prices now, you may want to consider mileage, but better than other SUVs. Comfortable, reliable, safe. Only problem, is with the windows ... when rear windows are open there is a very loud sound that sounds like you have a flat tire.

By woggg - February 23 - 10:03 pmWe got the car a week ago, our first SUV. It is great. Fun to drive, decent pick up, a great stereo, with steering wheel controls. The seats are comfortable and easy to see out of, even for my 5 2" wife. Best of all, its American, so the manufacturer offers lots of incentives - we got $2000 cash back plus 0% for 5 years.

By La Brea Avenu Motors - October 30 - 4:33 pmGreat price. Super solid -- no squeaks and no rattles, amazingly strong structure, no wonder great safety reviews, feel confident when my wife drives it. Rear limited slip differential is a must to put power down and for safe handling when raining. A little better material inside and 5-speed auto would make it the Mercedes Benz among small SUVs, but for $26k minus the rebates and dealers discounts you cant blame them. Precise and fun car overall. Totally recommend it.
