This Year's Model Updates:

The Jeep Liberty's Renegade trim has been discontinued for 2007. Also, the 2.8-liter diesel engine is no longer available.

Pros:
  • Extremely capable off-road, high tow capacity.
Cons:
  • V6 is rather thirsty at the pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

  • Love it! - 2007 Jeep Liberty

I love my little liberty! My first car was a 91 Cherokee and I, had until now, been unable to find something that compared to that car. This is it! It is fun to drive, comfortable, quick and cute! I wanted a manual and had to search high and low to get it but I did. the gas mileage is very good highway, not so great in the city though. My only complaint is that there is rust on the rims and the car is still only 5 months old. The dealership says they will paint it, so right now I am battling them to have them completely replaced. Other that than that I am in LOVE with my car!

  • Bad Windows - 2007 Jeep Liberty

Dont get me started on the Jeep windows. Im sick and tired of paying $100.00 each time one of the windows break. We had to replace the windows 6 times since we got the vehicle in 2007. I will never buy Jeep again. I tell everyone I know not to buy Jeep.

  • big regret - 2007 Jeep Liberty

Seats stain if rain falls on it. Front window broke and on the way to fix it the back broke. Air only works half the time. Dealership replace compressor and still only works half the time. Small glove box poor gas mileage

  • Fun vehicle, needs improvement - 2007 Jeep Liberty

Obviously the Jeep is geared for power not for mileage so any aftermarket improvements you can make will help the mileage. Never use Goodyear tires as their rolling resistance is horrible. 20% of the Jeeps energy is wasted just on tire rolling resistance. We use Michelin tires and that helps greatly. A friend uses synthetic lubes throughout and a cold air intake by K&N. The new Liberties are way to boxy and just dont seem to have the heart of the earlier Liberties... Others may disagree but that is my take. With some aftermarket improved parts you will have a better performing vehicle with better gas mileage.

  • Love my Libertry - 2007 Jeep Liberty

I drive my Liberty 25000 miles /year. I can get 25 mpg on the highway if I use cruise control and keep the speed at 70. About 21 mpg around town. I is very comfortable on a long trip. Lots of cargo space. Very reliable so far. Ive had it for a year and bought it used. I would definitely buy another one.

I couldnt wait to get my jeep liberty. This is my 4th jeep and will be my last. Its been a great car except for the window regulators. The first one went out while traveling on vacation. The dealer I visited was awesome but the part was under warranty. The 2nd window just went out and I am very unhappy with the cost of the manufacture defect. If this is the expense I will have to incur I am looking to get rid of this jeep now. I refuse to own another one now.

  • OK for short trips - 2007 Jeep Liberty
    By -

Ive had my Liberty for 1 month and its OK. Gas mileage is OK at 24 mpg. The ride is good, but a little bumpy on rough roads. The seats sit high and give the driver a commanding view, but they can be uncomfortable on longer trips. It does great in the snow, even in 2 wheel. As for convenience features it has a lot to be desired - no storage areas other than the glovebox and a small compartment between the front seats. You have to stretch to reach temperature controls as they sit low on the dash. Its a good vehichle for short trips, but not the best family car to purchase.

  • Second Jeep Liberty - 2007 Jeep Liberty

This is our second Jeep Liberty. The "2007" Limited model has all the bells. Again its fun to drive and can still handle a sizable load. The 200" came with Sirius radio for a year and so far a great addition. It is also equiped with the above center console. Love the temperature and direction indicator. It also has the tire air presure electronic gauge. With the incentives at the time its hard to pass up against the crowded SUV field.

  • Big Disappointment! - 2007 Jeep Liberty
    By -

I purchased a 2007 Jeep Liberty with 29,000 miles in 2010. I had previously owned a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport and loved it so decided to trade up to the Liberty. What a disappointment! At 33,000 miles (just out of warranty) I had to replace the front drive shaft, all four windows have been replaced, the rear wiper doesnt work, the rear door latch comes apart every 5,000 miles and wont open till we take off the door panel and fix it, the front drive shaft is vibrating again (same as before we replaced it), the transmission doesnt shift properly, and we get a lousy 14 mpg. Our local dealer cant find anything wrong with it. Ill never own another Jeep!

I bought my liberty in 08 off the lot its Great in the winter and amazing tow cap pulld an empty tracor trailer up a 30%grade to get him off the road after he got stuck in the snow and was blocking trafic. granted i was in low gear but i dont get out and push any any more. who needs an F150 HEMI when you have a JEEP
