Overview & Reviews
All 2004 Jeep Libertys now feature a passenger-side grab handle and a power accessory delay feature, while Renegade models get additional rock rail protection and black accent body side moldings. New options include UConnect, Chrysler's hands-free in-vehicle communication system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a cargo organizer. Safety is enhanced thanks to a system that unlocks doors, illuminates interior courtesy lights and shuts off the fuel pump after airbag deployment. A new trim -- the Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition -- has been introduced, offering 16-inch graphite-painted aluminum wheels; graphite-painted fascias and body moldings; body-colored fender flares; a sun roof; fog lamps; and Columbia badging.
- Extremely capable off-road, creative interior design, still a Jeep at heart.
- Thirsty at the gas pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

Liberty Excels - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By JeepTexakin - December 3 - 2:00 amOnly 7,000 miles so far but have enjoyed the feel of the Liberty, my first Jeep. Ride is comfortable and like the feel of the 4WD action. Have maintained good traction in both snow and rain and takes turns well. Enough power out of 6cyl for my purposes. Excellent look to it and part of Jeep family a plus as well.

The Renegade - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Ex Mercees fan - December 3 - 2:00 amThis vehicle was purchased for my wife as a replacement for 2002 Mercedes ML 430. She gave up on that vehicle because Mercedes said the squealing brakes were "just a fact of life" and the rear seats needed a German engineer to get them to fold and return. She loves the Liberty and its handling. I find the performance with the 3.7L V6 more than adequate. Interior seating and position leaves a lot to be desired. The looks are very Jeep and "fun". Weve had four Wranglers and three Grand Cherokees. Liberty has the Wrangler fun and some of the Grand Cherokee style. A very good new vehicle.

Look Mom, a real SUV. - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By rv - October 17 - 10:00 amThere are only 3 or four true SUVs on this site that have actually *earned* the classification -- two of which are Jeeps. If you want a car, buy a car. If you want a truck, buy a truck. If you want an SUV, buy a Jeep.

Liberty - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By sparkn1855 - August 21 - 4:30 amThis vehicle is fun to drive and handles well. I havent had any mechanical problems with it. The fuel economy is a disappointment. I usually get between 15-18 mpg. The interior is very cramped and not meant for anyone with more than one child.

Just missing a Bag of chips - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Bubster - May 10 - 10:00 amI hate the window controls, and the remote entry is a bit wierd. Other than that, I love the Jeep Liberty. Even if the gas mileage is way less than I was told at the dealership, it is still better than my last truck.

Kind of small - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By msmacky - January 23 - 10:00 amLoved the look of this suv. Handles great, good power. A/C very cold and 6- CD player is great. 4 WD works good. No complaints until using back cargo area. Folding seats dont go flat so things tumble toward back. Have to put front seats all the way up to fold down back seats. Not alot of leg room in driver seat. Window controls a pain in middle- always reaching toward door. Loud street noise when windows are down. Drinks up the gas fast!
