Model Overview:

Sold from 2002-'12, the Jeep Liberty was the successor to one of America's original compact SUVs, the Cherokee (which returned in 2014). True to its tough, capable Jeep lineage, the Liberty has considerable off-road capability, thanks to steep approach and departure angles and exceptional suspension travel and articulation. The Liberty was also rated to tow up to 5,000 pounds, a robust figure for its class. These are qualities not found in most other small utility vehicles from this time period, which saw the rise of crossover SUVs optimized for the suburban lifestyle.

Demerits for the Jeep Liberty include a weak engine lineup, with sluggish acceleration and dismal fuel economy from both the four-cylinder and V6 engines offered over the years (the first generation's briefly optional diesel engine is impressively fuel-efficient, however). Interior quality and comfort are also lacking, and by today's standards, the Liberty's general lack of refinement leaves much to be desired.

Very impressed with ride.Good visibility. Still running on our 1st free tank of gas. Mileage seems to be OK so far.Purchased 08 black rwd ltd with all the bells & whistles. We looked at all comp vehicles, nothing could touch the Liberty. Glad Jeep brought back the old Jeep line.

I have been a Toyota owner for several years, and my last one (2007) Camry needed a new transmission at 8k, new rims mine were defective, I also have a 07 liberty in the family, it has been great, no rattles etc, so I went to drive an 09 liberty it was very Nice, sunroof, u-connect stereo, select trac 2 4wd, I m sure gas mileage wont be as good as with the car, but its an suv, not the fastest but its not a slug, take your time enjoy the drive, because it does have a Nice ride, and with incentives and discounts I got $6500 off the sticker. It has a lifetime warranty on the powertrain. Hopefully it will be as good as my other liberty in terms of reliability, go test drive one, their Nice.

There is nothing that I would even compare to the Liberty, specifically the Renegade model. They have tons of power, they are strong, heavy, and built to do whatever you desire of it. My only problem is that it consumes gas at an alarming rate. This is a result of the strong V6 paired with nearly 5000 pounds of SUV.

I bought the car used in august 2012, It had 150K+ miles on it I dont remember. At first I just needed a 4x4 in the winter in Spokane because the road can get bad. With no snow tires and basically all in part time 4x4 it handled flawlessly. Everything was perfect except for some creak in the driver door but hey. I didnt much care for the car but time and time again it blows me away. Infinity speakers, roomy and stylish inside and out. and Reliable. I even took it off road and I was impressed. have 170k in a few weeks and still strong. Got 12mpg in city at first but with K&N stock filter upgrade, new spark plugs, oil change and Seafoam It went to 15 1/2 mpg and over 21 on the HWY!

Unfortunately, I just had a pretty significant accident in my Jeep. Almost $10k to repair. I work in insurance and just knew I would going to hurt the next day. I handle multiple claims daily with much less damage and the passengers are very sore. Guess what!?!? Not even a spot of pain for me and my passenger! With the amount of damage, that is a miracle. I dont care what crash ratings say or anything. This vehicle took great care of us.

I just traded this dog in! Every time I took it in for an oil change something else needed fixed as well. More rattles than a maternity ward. Had the same problems that everyone else seems to have had, window motors, wiper motor, rattle in hatch that they told me was from a piece of welding that fell off...this was the wifes car and she liked it because it was cute. I used to own a 1996 Jeep Wrangler and it was well built, bit this thing. I will never buy another Chrysler product again. Traded it in on a Ford Escape. If this turns out as bad as the Jeep Ill never buy another car from the big three again.

Seriously this is my first car and i have to say that i love it! Treats me great! Bought it about 5 months ago with 126,000 miles on it and havnt looked back. Nothing needed replaced except the o2 cencer which the guy replaced for me so that was an easy fix of course. But all in all it is a wonder full car with great features, only thing that sucks is gas milage but hey i bought it so i have to live with it!:D

I love it. I hope it holds up, I think parts and service could be costly with so few sold. $25.00+ for a fuel filter?
