All 2004 Jeep Libertys now feature a passenger-side grab handle and a power accessory delay feature, while Renegade models get additional rock rail protection and black accent body side moldings. New options include UConnect, Chrysler's hands-free in-vehicle communication system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a cargo organizer. Safety is enhanced thanks to a system that unlocks doors, illuminates interior courtesy lights and shuts off the fuel pump after airbag deployment. A new trim -- the Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition -- has been introduced, offering 16-inch graphite-painted aluminum wheels; graphite-painted fascias and body moldings; body-colored fender flares; a sun roof; fog lamps; and Columbia badging.

• Thirsty at the gas pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

  A great SUV for my wife. Its small size makes it easy for her to handle and extremly tight turns make it a sinch to park. Fun car!

  We just bought our new 2003 model Jeep Liberty two weeks ago. If wed known it would be this much fun, wed have bought it a long time ago! We love the luxury features and the nice ride!

  I LOVE MY LIBERTY.IT IS JUST THE FUNNEST CAR TO DRIVE.I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH ITS HANDLING IN THE SNOW.MY PARENTS WENT OUT AND GOT A LIBERTY ALSO.I WOULD RECOMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

  I just got my Liberty 3 days ago trading up from a wrangler. At first I wasnt even going to test drive one because I didnt like the way they looked (we also have a Santa Fe, love that too!} After test driving it and seeing all the features I had to have it!!

  We have a Grand Cherokee and a Wrangler, so this is our third jeep. All are everything you could want in a vehicle. The Liberty is small enough to be easy to drive, big enough to be OK on comfort, and powerful enough to make it fun.

  HAVE HAD MANY CARS/TRUCKS OVER THE LAST 27 YEARS OF DRIVING. THIS COMES CLOSE TO BEING THE FAVORITE VEHICLE FOR ME. IT DOES EVERYTHING VERY WELL, WELL MADE, DURABLE. VERY COMFORTABLE, ALL CREATURE COMFORTS AS NEEDED. IN 10 MONTHS OF DRIVING I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS, OTHER THAN FUEL MILEAGE. ON HIGHWAY I GOT 20MPG ONCE. TYPICAL HIGHWAY AVERAGE FUEL MILEAGE IS 18-19MPG.

  I have the Columbia edition which looks as rugged as a renegade (without the cheese) but is equipped more like a limited, & I have to say I think its an exceptional value. Ride, performance, handling & styling are all first class & the build quality is markedly superior to some previous Jeep offerings. The only real flaw is the gas mileage - but hey, keeps me inside my lease mileage right? Overall, I tried out the main competitors and for me this is by far the finest combination of price and capability in the price range.
