Overview & Reviews
All 2004 Jeep Libertys now feature a passenger-side grab handle and a power accessory delay feature, while Renegade models get additional rock rail protection and black accent body side moldings. New options include UConnect, Chrysler's hands-free in-vehicle communication system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a cargo organizer. Safety is enhanced thanks to a system that unlocks doors, illuminates interior courtesy lights and shuts off the fuel pump after airbag deployment. A new trim -- the Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition -- has been introduced, offering 16-inch graphite-painted aluminum wheels; graphite-painted fascias and body moldings; body-colored fender flares; a sun roof; fog lamps; and Columbia badging.
- Extremely capable off-road, creative interior design, still a Jeep at heart.
- Thirsty at the gas pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

Fun, Fun, Fun - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By reecee3 - July 14 - 3:23 pmI bought my Liberty in 05 with 6,000 miles on the odometer. I now have 190,000 miles and she is running strong. I have had to do some minor maintenance, but I have driven her all over the country and frankly done so at high speeds. My friends call the car the silver bullet because I have a lead foot. The car has never left me stranded and is very fun to drive. Dropping the back seats is a breeze and I can fit tons of luggage or furniture it it. I am now looking for a newer model and hoping I love it like I love this little Liberty. If I didnt have to travel, I would keep it to drive around town because I love it so much!

Liberty Brakes Danger - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By exjeep21 - June 19 - 7:06 pmI brought my third Jeep, a Liberty, in February, 2004. I now have 28,000 miles on it and the rear brake calipers locked and I had to have it fixed somewhere other than the dealer. The wheels were smoking and all they could say is that repairs are only at the dealer. I will never buy another. They just dont care!

Robs Liberty - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By the911guy - June 2 - 2:00 amI traded a 2000 Ford Mustang for my Liberty and havent looked back. It has been an absolute joy to have. The only negative Ive noticed is that gas mileage could be better. Interior room is adequate and Im over six foot. Room for the kids and their stuff too. Peppy six banger and smooth transmission and transfer case make even off road use easy and fun.

Gas Milege, fogging of window - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Amy Fitzgerald - May 28 - 10:00 amLove my jeep, but it does eat the gas and since the gas prices have gone up, I have to fill up every couple of days. I have also notice that while on rainy days the backseat windows fog up very heavily, even with defrost on.
