Overview & Reviews
All 2004 Jeep Libertys now feature a passenger-side grab handle and a power accessory delay feature, while Renegade models get additional rock rail protection and black accent body side moldings. New options include UConnect, Chrysler's hands-free in-vehicle communication system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a cargo organizer. Safety is enhanced thanks to a system that unlocks doors, illuminates interior courtesy lights and shuts off the fuel pump after airbag deployment. A new trim -- the Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition -- has been introduced, offering 16-inch graphite-painted aluminum wheels; graphite-painted fascias and body moldings; body-colored fender flares; a sun roof; fog lamps; and Columbia badging.
- Extremely capable off-road, creative interior design, still a Jeep at heart.
- Thirsty at the gas pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

My Reveiw - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By chilly2006 - August 10 - 2:00 amThis is a fun car to drive. It is easy to handle and has great control. My only complants are the noise engine and small fuel tank. At all times i fill safe and for a SUV it has great visibility.

Luv My Liberty - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Colleen Ewald - May 16 - 2:00 amI have never owned a Jeep. I love mine. The preformance of this vehicle is fantastic. The best handling and turning radius I have ever experienced in a vehicle. The 4x4 is great. I had never used a 4x4 until this winter and my Liberty put the BIG BOYS to shame. I could go through anything, and the others could not get the traction that the liberty gave me. I work at UPS and several of the Drivers wanted to test drive mine. Now 7 (seven) of us are happy Jeep Liberty Owners. All of us agree it has great preformance, style and is very unique. I will never turn back to the other brands. Great Product Colleen Ewald

Cheap PLastic Parts/Beware of RECALLS - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Sweetxoxo - May 16 - 2:00 amTruck Vents,Plastic body parts/mud flaps fall apart.Beware of NOT getting Recall notices promptly! Ball Joint recall found by Chrysler in 12/03, My Ball Joints failed unexpectedly in 2/04.They never sent recall notice until mid Feb. The company takes their sweet time contacting you, very uncooperative with the assistance I needed. This was a serious issue that was not approached immediately by this company and they say "You had Bad Luck"?? I say I had good luck cuz this could have cost me much more than $$ it could have cost my life when it fell to the ground while driving, without warning.

2004 Liberty Renegade - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Michael F. McCarthy - April 28 - 5:03 pmMy wife and I decided upon retirement that we didnt need the big, thirsty V-8 or space of our Grand Cherokee. But we like Jeeps so we reluctantly sold the GC to our son and leased the Liberty Renegade. We have never regretted that decision. It is spunky, fun to drive, and everyone asks about the lights on the roof. It stands out in a crowd. It is almost time to turn it in so we are going to start looking at colors and features early. My daughter liked it so much she traded her Grand Cherokee for a 2006 Liberty Limited. That has all the bells and whistles and is really very nice.

Great value - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By rakessler - April 27 - 4:56 pmThis is my first Jeep and my first SUV. It has been a pleasure to drive. I have only had one item that needed to be repaired and it was covered under warranty. The Liberty is a great highway cruiser, safe and steady, plus it can go off roading or up to the mountains without any chains or struggle.

Good Family Truckster - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Ryan D - April 4 - 1:43 pmWe bought this vehicle with 22k miles on it about 3 years ago. It now has 75k miles on it. We have had basically no problems with this vehicle, and the engine seems bulletproof, which is pleasantly surprising to me. The 4WD is incredible in the New England winters, and the 3.7L straight 6 is quite peppy (but loud). We have taken this on a few long road trips and its not too comfortable for extended periods of time. The seats are hard and offer no lumbar or lateral support, and also no adjustable head rest. The radio and HVAC controls are large, easy to use, and located right where you want them. MPG is tolerable if you are easy on the gas.

Happy with change - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By MFM440 - April 3 - 2:00 amWe decided to trade our very nicely equiped Grand Cherokee Ltd. for an 04 2wd Liberty Renegade. Retired, we didnt need the larger vehicle and felt we could live without the thirsty 4.7L. I was concerned about performance going to V-6. Not any more. We are very happy with the Libertys performance, fuel economy and overall handling.

Blammo Good Jeep - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By mmcevoy - March 29 - 10:00 amAlmost 1000 miles on my new Liberty. Traded in as Escape for the Liberty. WHAT a huge difference. Escape feels like a tin bucket compared to the Liberty. Rides great, looks great. I get the oddest looks from friends and co-workers, who remark that it looks SO expensive. Renegade package is cool. Only downside is the Renegade rack doesnt fit in my garage.

I love it!!!!! - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By kell - March 29 - 10:00 amLove the manual transmission, makes me feel like Im actually driving. Plus, most of my family cant drive manual so they can never ask to borrow it. Love the way it handles and I am able to zip it around like I did in my small car.
