This Year's Model Updates:

The Jeep Liberty's Renegade trim has been discontinued for 2007. Also, the 2.8-liter diesel engine is no longer available.

Pros:
  • Extremely capable off-road, high tow capacity.
Cons:
  • V6 is rather thirsty at the pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

  • Never again - 2007 Jeep Liberty

Very uncomfortable ride..too harsh for day to day driving unless you are driving on freshly paved road. Window regulators have been a nightmare. Every time I took it in for a warranty repair they would just lubricate and adjust it. As soon as warranty ran out the only solution was full replacement at my cost. This is the main reason why I would not buy another Jeep or Chrysler product, crooks. BTW I did go to 3 different dealerships while under warranty, not one would replace these defective regulators. As you can see from this forum and many other Jeep sites, this has been a known defect for a long time.

  • Good for the winter...thats about it - 2007 Jeep Liberty

I received this car as a company fleet vehicle and I must say while it is great car to have in the winter, driving it the rest of the year is just horrid. The cars suspension is really awful. Even in freeway driving there is so much bounce in the car it literally hurts my head. The sound system is not great and Ive had some issues with the windows. On the positive side the power is respectable and its storage capability is nice.

Very poor pwr.window mechanism. Two windows have completely failed and expensive to repair and get replacement parts. Except from dealer with NO assistance from Chrysler whom is aware of the continuing problem.

  • Power Window Issues - 2007 Jeep Liberty

I purchased my Jeep in October of 09. Its an 07 model and in three months of ownership Ive had my jeep into the dealership four times for repair to the power windows...specifically the Drivers side window but Ive had problems with the passenger window as well. It appears that the issue is not with the dealership making the repairs, but with Chrysler supplying inadequate window regulators and plastic parts that dont hold up. Ive written Chrysler with my concerns and have not yet received a response. Im wondering if others that have experienced these window issues have been able to get corrective action from Chrysler? • Very Happy with 06 Liberty Sport - 2007 Jeep Liberty

The Liberty handles very well on all types of road conditions. It corners well, and the suspension is less "bouncy" than many other SUVs that Ive ridden in. With this vehicle I actually enjoyed driving in deep snow in upstate NY for the first time in 20 years! The Liberty has plenty of interior space for hauling items and is designed nicely. Overall, it is a rugged and fun vehicle to drive. Mileage is actually better in highway conditions (26-27 mpg) than expected.

  • Life Time Warranty does not mean Life Time Warrenty - 2007 Jeep Liberty
    By -

Back in 2007 our family purchased 2 Jeep Liberties. Our Limited has about 51,000 miles. The trans went on it. Now, we have a Life Time Warranty on it so we thought we were covered. Nope! It needed to be inspected for our warranty to count? No where on the contract does it state this. Do not trust your contracts. This company will find ways around for filling them. Were never buying a Jeep again. They just lost over 20 people in our family who have bought Jeeps in the past but will never buy them again in the future.

  • Good rugged SUV - 2007 Jeep Liberty

Wanted car that was rugged and could stand bumps without feeling that you damaged something. The ride is rugged and smooth, so is the auto shifting. Gas mileage is poor 17-20 mpg (with the cost of gas. The storage capability is also poor (glove box is small and so it the front storage bin).

  • Cant Go Wrong. - 2007 Jeep Liberty

Looking for a small/mid-size SUV that really is a Sport Utility Vehicle? Theyre are very few choices left, and the Liberty has always been a front-runner. The right combination of Old-School tried and true Jeep four wheeler know-how, and a good helping of modern safety, capability, and convenience additions. Its not my first Jeep, but it is my favorite so far. I have the 2007 Latitude Edition, and love the combinations of features and pricing. Only thing I miss? Mine doesnt have the overhead trip-computer, oh well. Overall a great vehicle. Styling has held up extremely well since the introduction, and if you dont like the "BOX" trend that Jeeps following, get one now while you can.

Very fun vehicle. I have the 6 speed manual. The gas mileage isnt too bad if youre on the highway in 6th and running 2WD. With 4WD and driving hard in the snow the gas mileage suffers, but the capabilities of this vehicle in the snow make up for it. 4WD LO range for shows this is a true offroad capable Jeep. Most of the competition is car based. I wish Jeep would keep going in this direction for its new vehicles, but it looks like theyre trending towards more carlike lower profile vehicles with the (Dodge/Chrysler) short side windows. Get one while you can.

  • BAD Windows - 2007 Jeep Liberty

Wife needed a new car get her through the snow. If you lived on the east cost last winter you know that a VW Beetle would have been useless. Highly upset with Jeep. We have had this car not even a year. It has less than 45,000 Miles on it we replace the front driver side 3 mos a go. This week we had to replace the front passenger side and on the way home from the stealership the back passenger side broke. Stealership hit me for 400 bucks, I called the Jeep headquarters and complained they were looking into getting me some assistance on getting the back window fixed--I want my money back.. this car sucks gas and your time
