  • I would buy another - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is my 2nd GC, 1st was a 99 Laredo with 6 cyl. This one is a 04 Limited loaded, inferno red. It has all the features, tow package, pwr pedals, nav system, automatic lights, tire pressure monitor, heated seats, climate control, and matching full size spare. I burn midgrade gas in the H.O. engine and it does fine. I get 15 mpg around town and on the road 22mpg, not the greatest but expected from a 4X4 and H.O. engine. I have had it for 14 months and nothing has broken yet. I tow a boat 4500# and get about 10mpg when towing. Tows great. The size of the GC makes for easy parking in a downtown parking garage compared to some of the large SUVs.

I have had several different suvs in the past. I must say that this has been my favorite. This is the second grand cherokee i have had. My other one was a 2002 the only reason i traded it was that the lease was up. I love the handling, and the comfort. I put alot of miles on my vehicle so it is nice to have a safe and reliable vehicle. So far i have put 6000 miles on this one and i have had no problems.Love the jeep

  • Great Overland experience - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is my 5th Jeep and the best. Major improvements over the older Grand Cherokees are engine performance of the new HO V-8 with improved HP and torque. The transmission is a much improved 5 speed automatic. The low end torque is great. The ride is improved but still lacks smoothness. The sound level is much improved. The Navigation is much better than the older style CD based Jeep Pod. The engine idle is a little rough but acceptable. The seats are great and provide good support and comfort. The vehicle is very functional and good looking.

  • My mistake to by a Jeep - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Well, I was all excited to by my first Jeep, and what a mistake that turned out to be. The short test drive did not allow me to realize the things that would later make me hate it. The outside wind noise, the horrible vent system, the problems with the starter (on a new vehicle?), the dripping of fluids, the poor acceleration.... Well, I am now going to see how to get out of it with the least amount of damage to my pocketbook. Hey, anyone interested in a slightly used Jeep???

A giant leap up in satisfaction from the 1998 Mercury Mountaineer I had. Fun to drive and I am very happy with my purchase

  • TRANSMISSION - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT I HAD TO BRING IN MY JEEP WITH ONLY 1000 MILES ON THE ODEMETER FOR TRANSMISSION WORK, I LOVE IT. MY TRANNI PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A LOOSE CONNECTION. IT RIDES GREAT, IS QUICK, & CARRIES ALL 3 OF MY ST. BERNARDS. IM VERY HAPPY THAT I TRADED IN MY 2002 FORD EXPLORER FOR IT. WOULS HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VEHICLE.

  • SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE FORD - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

THE RIDE IS TRUCK LIKE.THE FIT, FINISH, AND COLOR SELECTION IS GOOD. THE STANDARD V8 IS PEPPY, AND PULLS MY 5700LB BOAT AND TRAILER WITHOUT A PROBLEM.ITS GREAT IN DEEP SNOW, AND HANDLES SLIPPERY CONDITIONS WITH AUTHORITY.NOW THE PROBLEMS, THE WATER PUMP LEAKED AT 5000MILES. THE WINDSHEILD FOGS UP AT START UP WHEN COLD.THE ELECTRONIC DRIVERS SIDE MIRROR,THE DASH BOARD BEZEL,STEERING BOX, DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER, AND ENGINE IDLE CONTROL,ALL HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 20600 MILES.THE A/C DOES NOT COOL THE VEHICLE AT SLOW SPEEDS.THE SEAM IN THE CENTER OF THE FRONT SEAT BOTTOMS TENDS TO BE UNCOMFORTABLE AT TIMES.

  • LOVE my Grand Cherokee Laredo!!!! - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

First bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo in 1994. It lasted me 10 years with NOT ONE SINGLE PROBLEM. It was only this year, 2004, that I had a few issues...with the air and transmission. But thats pretty darn amazing! Hated to trade my baby in, but decided it made sense. Now I just bought the newest Laredo and its been just incredible. Could not ask for more with comfort, the look -- and it drives beautifully. Your ratings are WAY OFF, as far as Im concerned. THE BEST!!!!! Ed Connolly Stony Point, NY

  • 2004 Grand Cherokee Special Edition 4.7 - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Drives very smoothly on the road and is dead silent. I dont know why its getting bad reviews for on-road performance. Ive never had a smoother ride.

Most driving is local. Two to four trips a year exceeding 150 miles. Great service by dealer, one trip for brake check (recall) and one to replace the battery (warranty).
