All of these models incorporate subtle cosmetic touches and equipment upgrades. Additionally, each Columbia Edition Jeep comes with a complimentary Columbia parka.

  • Powerful 4.7-liter V8, all-terrain capability, roomy comfort for four.
Cons:
  • Noisy and unrefined, questionable reliability, trucklike on-road handling.

  • Very nice vehicle - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This has been a very nice vehicle so far. We have put 1300 miles on it in the month that we have owned it. Have averaged 17.8 mpg with the V8 in a mix of city and highway driving. Biggest complaint so far comes from a fat kid that put a door ding in it on the third day of ownership. The dealership we purchased the vehicle from was very pleasant to deal with, especially after being lied to by a Mitsubishi dealer. The Jeep handles well on the open highway and has a tight turning radius for the parking lots. Ample power and torque from the V8. Quiet at highways speeds. 5 speed transmission always seems to be in the right gear for the situation.

  • Beautiful, powerful, but frequently in the shop - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Until the 2011 Grand Cherokee was released I thought the 2004 was the best looking year of the best looking bodystyle. Has robust suspension and agressive approach and departure angles for offroading (though most are just daily commuters). Interior on the Overland was very nice and had unique styling. Nice engine/exhaust note, felt more powerful and faster than its 265 bhp rating. Good towing ability: 5000 lbs hardly noticable.

This Jeep drives smooth like a car, yet still has unsurpassed off road capability. And the HO motor makes it quick! Nice moderate size vehicle; not hard to fit in to parking places.

I considered other SUVS before buying the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. And I was very close to buying the 2004 Ford Explorer. I had owned a 2000 Ford Expedition with which I was extremely pleased. So, I was assuming the Explorer would give me the same satsifaction. But a souring experience with the Ford dealer brought me to the Jeep dealership. Im extremely happy that i did. The vehicle, outside of its rough on-road ride, is just marvelous. Ive been geting about 18 MPG so far. It has all the features I wanted in a vehicle. I especially like the small cargo carrying capability and the flexibility of having a nice car to take to important functions.

my third GRC far suprior to all others. 2300 miles so far & no problems of any kind. note i am very critical & would consider a 1/16" difference in body pannel fitment a problem to be fixed

Im still under warrantee...the only problem I had so far is that all of a sudden it started to run rough. I took it back three times and they finally found the problem after telling me that thats how it should run. They changed one side of the injectors....its been a about 8 months and its starting to run rough again so I will need to take it back. I also noticed that that the sliding door for the moon roof is tearing at the edges...dont think it should be doing that since I hardly use it. I think something is missing..need to have them look into that too.

my transmission makes a clicking noise when i put it in gear,it didnt come with the right floor mats, the engine knocks on cold start ups, trim coming off around the windshield, navigations system is messed up,missing screws that hold the tail light on(the dealer did put a old rusty screw in for me)rear window defogger broken, engine runs ruff at times and stalls when cold...all this and i have less than 4000 miles

  • Totally awesome Overland - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I absolutely love driving my Overland. I have always had Jeeps and it doesnt get much better than this. My Overland has the high output engine so you definitely get around fast! It has everything you can get for it and I would not trade it for the world, except for a newer one (2004) Its worth the price if you find one used. I wouldnt spend the $45k for a new one, but to get one used is well worth.
