Overview & Reviews
For 2004, the Grand Cherokee gets a factory-installed DVD navigation system integrated into the radio. Columbia, Freedom and Special Edition trims are also new for 2004. All of these models incorporate subtle cosmetic touches and equipment upgrades. Additionally, each Columbia Edition Jeep comes with a complimentary Columbia parka.
- Powerful 4.7-liter V8, all-terrain capability, roomy comfort for four.
- Noisy and unrefined, questionable reliability, trucklike on-road handling.

Love my Jeep - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Texas Dan - January 1 - 12:46 amMy first Jeep was a CJ5. Big difference between the two of them. I loved the 5 for its ability to climb and maneuver in tight places. I love this one for its comfort creatures.

Jeep great offroad - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Mark - December 17 - 10:00 amLive in Manitoba Canada. We really have enjoyed this vehicle and use it regularly off road to go to our remote cottage. Factory tires were garbage and replaced with BFG TA KOs. Cant imagine how a vehicle of this caliber & price could be equipped with such lousy tires. Fuel economy acceptable for a V8 SUV. Glad we didnt get a 6 cyl. Quadra-Trac 11 is pretty neat

great little truck - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By john r - December 6 - 10:00 amThe jeep handles wellin all situation. The 4.7 is quick off the line, and just loafs at70. back seat a little tight for six footers with tall driver and passenger up front. Pulls my popup like it wasnt even there. After almost seven thousand miles I have no complaints and I spend a lot of time in the car. Not as cushy a ride as the 2000 Lesabre it replaced, but a whole lot more fun to drive.

2004 JEEP GC - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By SCCARTS1 - November 23 - 2:00 amMY 4TH NEW JEEP IN 9 YEARS. THIS IS A HANDSOME & RELIABLE VEHICLE. HOWEVER MUCH TOO LARGE FOR THE 6 CYL ENGINE. NONETHELESS POSSESSING CAT-LIKE PROWESS IN OFF-ROAD SITUATIONS . THE SEATING SHOULD BE MORE COMFORTABLE CONSIDERING THE $30K PRICE TAG . I HONESTLY EXPECTED MORE FROM THIS MODEL CONSIDERING THE PRICE HIKE OVER THE NOW DISCONTINUED CHEROKEE.

Limited 4.7 V8 4x4 - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By brianm929 - November 22 - 6:08 pmThis has been an excellent vehicle for me. Bought it at 50,000 kms and am selling at 140,000 kms. The engine has been excellent. I had one small oil leak which was fixed on warrant. The seat heaters had to be replaced twice on recall. My number one complaint has been the HVAC blend doors. I have had those break and replaced twice. Not cheap. Other than that this has been a great vehicle. Its solid and really has had very few issues except those darned blend doors. This is my second and Im buying my third.

Still wonderful after all these years. . - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By glgibb - November 18 - 10:00 amWe are on our second Limited, first on was still going since 1997 and 180k miles. Traded up to the 04 Limited V8HO, and yes, you can tell a difference in the HO. Jeep continues to make a solid vehicle and a wonderful answer to the larger SUVs, (We also have a Tahoe). We choose the Jeep for travels around Texas cause it is a lot more fun.

Love it! - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By JGCSRT8 - November 15 - 3:53 pmPrior to this, I owned a Jeep Wrangler. While I loved that Jeep (a V6), this baby drives itself! Of course, the V8 is rough on the gas tank, but I dont mind because I dont drive that much. Got me through a Buffalo Winter with the all-time 4x4. Comfortable for longer trips. Gas prices would have to double before I would even consider trading it in!
