Though it may not look like it, Isuzu has completely revised the Rodeo from top to bottom, giving it more modern styling, a user-friendly interior, more V6 power and added room for passengers and cargo.

• Silky V-6 engine. Stylish interior. Rugged exterior. Roomy rear seat.

• Disconnected steering. Lousy 4WD button placement.

  Do Not Buy ! - 1998 Isuzu Rodeo

  In 1998 it was the only SUV with 204 HP, and it beat all the Mid-side SUVs out there. For the Price it was great BUT ever since I purchased the car Ive had problems. To mention a few (under warrenty): Cd-changer replaced 5 times (lost 6 cds), All 4 wheels, Temperature sensors, Transmition, clutch, Alternator )almost killed myself when it was cutting of by itself losing power steering and braking AND NOW OUT of Warranty The Engine. What else can go wrong? !

  Problem vehicle, never will purchase another. Rebuilt engine at 70K because of timing belt break (a recalled item), new engine at 145K because of egr/check engine light problem. WILL not pass emissions inspection; very costly vehicle to keep, but too much invested to get rid of it based on lousy value of it, despite new engine. NEVER, NEVER Again will I use this brand.

  One week after I bought this car, in a bad snowstorm, I had all the electrical circuitry turned on. The front and rear wipers, the defroster, the lights and the radio. Ten minutes into my trip, everything in my car started to go dim, and then the car died. I called the dealer and was told not to use the defroster; there will be a recall. Great, brand new car and I can’t use the defroster. I should have known then that this would be an omen. This car has been the worst ownership experience of a vehicle I have ever had in my 28 years of driving. Never have I prayed to get to my destination as many times in a car as I have with this one
