Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Better Than 2008 SF - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Crucian - June 30 - 4:23 pmThis replaced our 08 due to a defective engine. Interior is more upscale now, and seats look much nicer but they need to be firmer for taking turns. The 3.5l V-6 is ridiculously powerful for the FWD model. Torque steer is actually dangerous during full throttle operation in 1st gear. Grab the wheel with both hands or youll be in the ditch! Its great once you get used to it, though. Left foot placement is a bit awkward for the driver. I wish the sunroof didnt require the only and very expensive upgrade package. I dont need a nav system. I live on an island so Im not going to get lost. 3rd row seating is also gone. Overall very satisfied and great build quality so far.

Great SUV - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe
By ralphredwolf - June 29 - 11:06 pmAfter 97000 Miles this has probably been the best vehicle I have ever owned. I happen to drive cars and trucks for a living and this is one of the best out there. Normally after this much mileage a vehicle has some play in the front end but not this SUV. It is just as tight as the day I first drove it, unbelieveable. If only the USA could make a great SUV like this GM & Ford would never have problems. Buy one,you will not be disappointed.

love my santa fe - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By rhinesstonegal - June 26 - 3:43 pmThis is my 3rd Hyundai and my favorite so far. I had a Sonata and a GLS 350. I have had 3 Volvos, 3 BMWs and a Porsche Boxster and frankly for the money, its an excellent car. I have all the options in high end cars. I saw someone complain about their service but I have had wonderful service. Twice they have fixed things for free that would not have been covered under warranty. As long as all goes well with this car, I will probably buy another.

Solid Vehicle for the Price - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By gunlockjs - June 25 - 12:26 amThis Sante Fe is well equipped for the price and a good bargain. With the 3.5 V6, it has adequate power for hills and interstate driving. I test drove the smaller engines and recommend the 3.5 V6. The initial check of gas mileage was 21mpg @ 75mph on interstate driving. We bought the Sante Fe for my wife to drive to work in northern Minnesota and it works well in bad weather, handling 6 inches of fresh snow with no trouble.

Wise Buy - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By AZ Sunshine - June 23 - 2:26 pmAfter eying crossovers for a couple of years and test driving several, the new Santa Fe caught my eye, and it was the first crossover I got excited about. Only have 1700 mi on it, but am extremely pleased with safety, performance, and styling. Getting 22.5 mpg - better than my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Good visibility, especially the big windshield. Smooth ride, good acceleration. Powerful A/C as needed here in AZ. Now my neighbor who rides to work with me wants one! If I continue to be this pleased, would do it again in a heartbeat. As others say, first thing that struck me when I climbed in was "more bang for the buck."

Solid CUV, excellent value - 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe
By captathlon - June 21 - 4:12 amIve waited to write a review on our Limited FWD until weve had it for a couple months in order to get over the "I love this vehicle" feeling that we all have when we get a new car. We now have almost 3,000 miles on ours, and we dont necessarily love this vehicle, but we really like it a lot. Were very pleased with the power and fuel mileage, impressed with the design and build quality, and pretty satisfied with the features. There is some suspension noise and the ride can be a bit jarring when going over large bumps or potholes, but overall it has a nice ride. If I had the chance to do it over again, would I still buy a Santa Fe? Absolutely.

what was I thinking - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
By heis - June 19 - 10:00 amIts a Hyundai- what was I thinking. guess we wwere influenced to much by the exterior design- The car looks really cool. However only after a short time we had the car thing are falling apart. The screw to the oiltank had a hairline crack. The motor needed readjustment. The engine noise is now transmitted to the interior and the plastic parts inside are vibrating. not much but I guess it will get worse. The car seems to accelerate pretty slowly- We ignored that when we bought the car. The actual economy is 24. (Much higher). We are really dis-illusioned
