Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

I bought the Santa Fe for my mom last year when her 96 Toyota Corolla was totaled in an accident. She had problems entering and exiting the Corolla because of arthritis. Now she rarely complains because the Santa Fe is so much higher off the ground. She really enjoys driving it; she never thought she could maneuver an SUV. But the Santa Fe is very responsive, and it doesnt drive like a truck. Im planning to buy a Santa Fe for myself. I get many compliments on the Santa Fe, and one co-worker has purchased one in the last month. Several others are talking about buying a Santa Fe.

  • Best value overall in mid-size SUVs - 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe

This is my 2nd Hyundai. Traded up from an Elantra, which I loved, so when I needed a larger vehicle, the Santa Fe was my first choice. For a mid-size SUV, the price is low, the fuel economy is decent, and the warranty and overall quality are outstanding. I find the best fuel economy is about 65-70mph, keeping the RPMs below 3000. Recently moved from FL to CA with my family, 2 pets, and a trunk full of clothes & supplies, with no problems at all. Handled pretty good when I hit the remnants of a blizzard in the midwest. Acceleration is a little slow, but once it gets going, it runs real smooth. Seeing so many other Santa Fes on the road makes me feel good about the choice I made

  • Nice first SUV - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

Theres a lot of std equipment on this car(including side airbag) and its build solidly and tightly. I am satisfied with this car even though I had quite a few trip back to dealer to fix the engine computer that refuse to behave. Its fuel comsumption is on the low side even for SUV.

I love my new Hyundai Santa Fe 2004 ! The overall size and weight of the vehicle is very convenient and comfortable and has a "safe" feeling, and ease in driving. It is exactly what I was shopping for and so far no problems. For my needs, just about perfect. Have not had "service" needs yet so I cannot rate that.

Just bought the Santa Fe and I love it! It was down to this or the CRV. I have owned Hondas for the last 25 yrs. Hyundai won! Much more luxurious feel. Drives like it is floating and excellent value!

  • New Santa Fe huge improvement over previous model - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I traded in my 2010 Santa Fe Limited for a 2013 GLS with AWD. I would have like to have gone for the Limited but I wanted 7 seats, and not 6. So far, I have to say that for the most part, the vehicle is much improved. The exterior is much more handsome, although you lose a little rear visibility. The interior is vastly improved, with much more comfortable seats, higher material quality, and hugely improved instrumentation and controls. Most noticeable is the improved quietness of the car, and the vastly improved ride quality. In the older version, you would feel a big jolt over minor potholes. The new one adsorbs the impact so that they are barely perceptible.

Affordability, style, comfort of ride, price and warranty cant be beat in the auto industry. This vehicle is superior to any Ive shopped for or driven, bar none. Interior room excellent compared to SUVs in same class.
