Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Outstanding Vehicle - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By geezer2017 - December 10 - 7:30 amWe purchased a GLS 2.7 liter V6 model 2 weeks ago and Ive never so enjoyed a new vehicle as much as this. It is the most comfortable, quiet, well-built, and generously appointed car in the way of standard features that Ive ever owned(ESC, 4-wheel disc antilock, outstanding sound system, beautiful interior, very roomy, and very nice interior features and storage). It handles very well. Steering is very responsive with no slop and no body sway. Also getting 21 MPG city. Havent done a trip yet to verify highway but its rated at 27 highway which is pretty darn good for a 6. Its also built in Alabama so Hyundai is providing US jobs as well. This is a well-built car built in America.

Love My New Limited Santa Fe - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By rknd - December 10 - 3:33 amHaving owned for 2 months now I know we made the right choice. I did tons of research, test drove and compared the Vue, CRV, Rav4 among others. The Santa Fe was always my favorite. My husband is a Ponitac/GMC man and was very skeptical on buying a foreign car. The Santa Fe won him over! Everyone who rides in it cant believe how quiet it is. And no more complaining from the kids in the back seat. They love the reclining seats. Gas mileage 19-20 city/24.5 hwy

Good but Engine Lacks - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
By dktech - December 8 - 9:01 pmNice looking exterior and interior but given recent reduction in EPA mpg and so so performance of the 2.0L turbo it makes me wonder if buying a competitors product with a V6 engine would have been a better choice. The 2.0L is smooth and responsive but in the final analysis it falls short in the performance department, I have the AWD version.

This Car Has Issues! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By m liggeri - December 6 - 5:06 pmThe car looks great, but it might be overrated. I have only had my car for less than a month and I have to bring it in a second time for the engine light. The dealer keeps telling me its not a problem, and then adds 40 miles to my car before giving it back. Towne Hyundai has a terrible service department. They pretty much told me to ignore the light unless it turns on again, and its on again. Plus now when I drive it that smooth new car feeling is gone already. You can feel the car shifting into gear. Too bad they wont call me back to fix it.

Fuel Gauge, Estimated Range, and MPG - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
By djg77 - December 5 - 3:17 pmI recently hit 3,200 miles on my 2.0T with front wheel drive. Ive noticed some strange issues with the fuel gauge, and after some research on various message boards, the issue is very common. The dash display of the Santa Fes includes digital readouts that show you your average MPG on your current tank of gas , your estimated range (how far you can travel until you need more gas), and a bar composed of little "bricks" that shows you how much gas you have left. The bricks disappear as your gas tank empties. Until Hyundai fixes whatever is wrong with them, expect wildly inaccurate readings.

Bad Rotors - 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe
By ryan.prentice - December 4 - 7:56 pmRotors warp continuously. Warranted item but no easy fix. The red tape process for getting approval to replace a warranted item will have you eating blood pressure medication at age 30. Hyundai claims they have a "Bumper to Bumper" warranty for 5 years 60,000 miles. Good luck getting them to honor it. Not to mention the replacement of the wheel bearings and seals at about 15000 miles! Of course it took another 3000 miles for them to replicate the sound! Recently took a service manager for a spin and he heard it every turn but the service tech couldnt replicate, hmmm sounds familiar. Overall Hyundai promises you the best warranty but hardly delivers! Still trying to get the rotors replaced.

NOT GOOD - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Tracie - December 3 - 10:00 amI have had the vehicle for 1.5 years and had the transmission replaced once. Now I maybe looking at another new tranmission. Just got my oil changed and they informed me that I have metal scrapings in my transmission fluid. When I called the dealership, they said they are out of loaner cars and cannot get me in for 2 weeks. Very poor service! This thing has been in the shop for a good portion of my ownership. Maybe I got a lemon, but I would expect the dealership to go out of its way for me to rectify the situation. I am a young buyer and have many more vehicles to buy in the future. Sad to say but I will never buy another Hyundai!

A pleasant change - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Normster - December 3 - 10:00 amThis car is a workhorse! We bought it and immediately drove 5000 miles. No problems, good mileage and great performance. After a a year of research and looking at other cars, I kept coming back to think about the Santa Fe, and Im glad I did. Now if I can keep my college age son out of the car I would be completely happy!
