Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Love my Santa Fe - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Cynthia - February 20 - 4:26 amI have had my 2004 Santa Fe for 8 months now. I love it. I have plenty of room for my family of 4. It is great for traveling and shopping. Going through drive through restrants is a breeze. So is loading and unloading groceries from the back. We just got back from a trip to the Smokie Mountains. My husband commented that it was a joy to drive. Smooth handling like a car. The only draw back is when going through parking lots, tourists didnt hear the engine and we had to wait for them to get out of our way.

Hyundai Santa Fe - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By jgessert - February 13 - 10:00 amI have been nothing but pleased with my Hyundai Santa Fe. It has predictable handling with sufficiant horsepower to back it up. Interior seating is comfortable and cargo space is generous for the vehicles size. The list of standard features is impressive and make the Santa Fe a great value.

Great so far. - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By tammy - February 10 - 11:13 pmBefore almost buying 1yr old used Nissan Murano, i made sure i tested a few others - namely the RAV4, Compass, and Santa Fe (SF). I prefer new, but i also loved the styling and handling of the Murano - so i was torn. The SF competed in almost every way. I was surprised it drove as responsively as the Nissan and had lots of features youd expect in a more expensive car, . Even my Highlander-driving father was impressed. 8 months later its still been a good choice.

Highly Recommend a 2007 Santa Fe SE AWD - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Powderhound - February 5 - 10:00 amBought used w/ 30K miles. Having driven 10K miles in 6 mos., I have only good things to say (except about the headlights, which are too dim). Pre- & Post-purchase research revealed that: 1) only the bigger engine has a timing chain, not a belt; 2) tow package includes a transmission cooler & high- capacity radiator, & the tow bar wraps under the exhaust pipes to protect them; 3) the 18 in. Tires provide better handling and road feel than the 16 in. Tires; 4) the 3rd row has its own ac controls, which helps appease children who have to sit there; 5) only the awd version has the nice brushed-aluminum dual-exhaust tips; & 6) the Santa Fe shares an assembly line w/ the sonata, but has its own platform

A lot more than I expected - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By motorman409 - February 2 - 6:03 pmI have been a GM guy my whole lfe. My last ride was an 03 Avalanche. Not a very reliable vehicle. I had not expected to buy a Hyundai, however when I saw it, and then drove it, I was sold. I test drove an Acura RDX, a Murano, a Lexus, a Honda, a Torrent, 2 Toyotas. Not one of them fit my most basic needs, room for 4 sets of golf clubs, a good stereo, and a good looking vehicle. All for a reasonable (not cheap) price. The Sante Fe fit the bill. So far (600 miles, 2 weeks) I am still surprised by it. Gas mileage of 22+, and it looks like its only getting better. Hopefully all of the good things I have been reading about Hyundais overall quality improvement will hold true.

My Sante Fe - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Bar20rider - February 1 - 9:06 pmA fine automobile, stylish looks, inside and out. Proud to be seen driving it and love to sit behind the wheel. Excellent sales and service at the dealership. Comfortable passenger and and seating areas on longer trips. Handles well in all types of driving conditions. Make running boards a standard feature instead of an option. Comfortable interior for longer trips as driver and/or passenger. Average MPG.

5 speed Transmission - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By HC - February 1 - 2:00 amIm less than impressed with the shifting, especially from 1st gear to second. It is not precise and hesitates before shifting. Dealer said this is normal for this car.
