Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

This is a handy little car to run errands, yet big enough to handle 5 people. Easy to park. Has a snappy engine for quick take off.

  • bad value - 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe

I own two 2011 santa fes and four 2005 santa fes..the maintenance costs for the 2011s are triple the 2005s for the first 35, 000 miles. I wish I had not purchased the 2011"s. I am really disspapointed after owning the 05"s. they went downhill...I have gone thru 4 front hub bearings, 3 lower ball joints, 2 tierod ends, 4 sway bar links, 3 power steering pumps in the 2011"s and it is still not over.

A fun suv to drive with a very stylish look. Fuel economy is not bad. The one drawback is that the buttons on the steering wheel for the criuse control are NOT lighted for night time driving. Could have installed a oil pressure gauge on dash instead of a lite. Overall very nice...

  • Great Used Car for Teens & College! - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

Bought a 2003 Santa Fe with 125K GLS 2.7L for my son his senior year of HS, he took it to college...had to replace a rear trailing arm & a coroded battery cable, other than that I did the timing belt, plugs & wires, new tires, and most fluids. GREAT car for the money, love the styling (its now a classic), modern interior, and perfect for teens and college age kids for room and safety. Decent sound system, side airbags and lots of metal, smooth ride and quiet engine...you can do a lot worse, just stay away from the 4-cylinder.

Our Sante Fe rides great. So good, that sometimes I look down at the speedometer and Im shocked at how fast Im going! It has such a smooth and comfortable ride. Honestly, I bought it mainly for the warranty but now Id buy another one in a minute!

  • Unbelievable Value - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

After researching the customer comments on the Santa Fe, I test drove a loaded LX even though the lease on my 1999 Honda CRV still had 6 months to go; I could not resist this SUV after the test drive and paid off the lease on the Honda just to get it. Its ride, comfort, and amenities makes it feel like it is in another class when compared to the CRV and trust me; I drove the CRV for 2.5 years.

  • Expectations Met - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

We just recently added a Santa Fe to our family fleet with our Honda Pilot. We are very pleased and our expectations are met completely. The interior of the Santa Fe is far better than the plasticky Pilot. We are receiving 21 mpg in mixed driving

  • Great value for the money - 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe

This is a great car. It looks nice, rides nice, and has great features. The only thing I would say is that the navigation system seems a bit pointless with Carplay/Android Auto and you cant get some of the more advanced features without spending thousands on navigation. Other than that, I am happy with the vehicle. The seats are comfortable, power is nice, ride is smooth for a SUV crossover. I have no complaints. There is very little room for cargo if the back seats are up but that is to be expected.

  • Brakes and caliber maintance - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I cant believe I have to have the Calibers /brakes cleaned and lubricated every 12,000 miles or the brakes "burn up and Lock up" this is what the dealers said and it did happen to a friend of mine! Why arent customers told this before we buy? reliability? poor

  • WATCH OUT FOR WARRANTY - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

5/60,000 LIMITED warranty is much more limited than indicated in Owners Handbook. Watch out for items not listed in WHATS NOT COVERED section. Very vague, states what most owners already know, they dont cover the basic normal replacement parts, brake pads, bulbs, fuses etc. What they dont tell you about is what is usually covered by other manufactures under a true BUMPER TO BUMBER format. Had Chevy bumper to bumper and it covered everything for advertised time/mileage. Also considered noisy and heavy engine vibration when put into gear "normal" engine performance.
