Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Shopped around. Looked at the 4cyl competitors such as the X-Trail, CRV, Forester etc. But we need to tow a small boat and the 2000lb capacity of those models swayed us to a V6, reluctantly. We drove Endeavor, Pilot, a used ML and a couple others. We like that the styling is brand new so it wont look out of date for a while. MUCH better than the old model. There really was no other choices that made sense. Toyotas and Hondas with leather were 40K and really didnt seem better. Sincerely the best bang for the buck out there in a mid-size SUV.

The 2.7 liter V-6 is underpowered, and not good for towing at all. This suv revs high when you want to accelerate quickly, like out of a toll both for example. The interior is compact and not roomy for taller people at all. And I am 57". The seats do not go back far enough for the driver and passenger....thats the Biggest complaint. The seats are very uncomfortable as well. Limited rear storage area. I had a 05 Chevy Silverado before the Sante Fe, I switched thinking our kids would have more room...big mistake. I live in snow country, and this is by far the worst vehicle I have ever driven in the snow. Who ever says 4x4 and all-wheel drive are the same are sadly mistaken. By American.

  • 16 verses 19 in gas mileage! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Loved my new Sante fe until I realized the real gas mileage I was getting!Only getting 16 miles per gallon in town, very dissapointed.Says on sticker 19 to 21 in town. And Im no lead foot.If I had to do it over I would pick something that was much more economical.Big difference in what I was expecting.

Great vehicle! Sexy Look! Great value. Better than EPA gas mileage already (1200 miles). This is a very nice vehicle for the money. You wont be sorry with this one I dont think.

Originally we wanted an X3, but found dollars for value way out of whack. We then test drove a Rav4, Escape, Murano, Compass, Equinox and finally on a why not premise the Hyundai. It was miles ahead in quality look/feel, and features. I seriously dont see how pro reviewers can favor a Toyota which felt like a tin can, and bounced all over the place to this. Warranty/Finance rates and simply pleasure of driving sets this apart. If you havent drove one try it out youll be pleasantly surprised. We were so much we bought is 7 days later. Keep up the good work Hyundai...you may have made a customer for life.

So far so good went from a Toy Camry always wanted a SUV AWD. Cant wait for snow. Choppy ride and not best gas mileage yet only 1200 miles. Comfortable and love the blue tooth. Eye catcher black in color, nice mags.

  • Incredibly loud noise - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe

This vehicle deafens us whenever we take it on the highway. Wheel bearings are short lived. The battery has to be replaced frequently. Overall, not worth the money. The dealer is also on an efficiency kick which means that you will pay top dollar for the vehicle as well as service. They are trying to squeeze the customer whenever they can and the auto body shop doesnt provide good quality.

Our 1st SUV- not used to hopping up into it. For the price, warranty it seems to be a good choice. Compared with Ford Escape, CRV, RAV 4 and others. Needs some thins added- HUD, P3, interior lighting, etc

I purchased the Sante Fe Sport a year and a half ago after researching safety ratings and affordability of various SUVs. I live in a high traffic area, and safety was a top priority. Last week I was sitting at a red light when I was rear ended by a Toyota Tacoma going at too high a rate of speed for the area. The truck that hit me actually came high enough to knock out the back glass of my hatchback. All side curtain airbags in my entire vehicle deployed instantly. While I am facing further medical treatments, thankfully, none of my injuries were life threatening. I’m so thankful for the safety features of the Sante Fe. Now we wait for insurance to decide if my SUV can be fixed or if it will be totaled out. My husband and I agree that if it is totaled out, we will be heading right back to the dealership for another Hyundai Sante Fe Sport!
