Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

All In One Package - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Lee - October 1 - 3:46 amAfter a frustrating time with my 02 Odyssey, we decided to get a new SUV. I have tested a fair amount of SUVs in the market and the Santa Fe was my top choice. I bought it and the experience is amazing. 3 months with it and its still pretty flawless. The fuel economy is so-so but what do you expect from a AWD? This CUV is definitely worth looking at. Its the bang for the buck. I love it. My first Hyundai... really impressed.

Enjoying the ride! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By mary - September 30 - 4:23 amI am enjoying my Santa Fe. It is a cute car, fun to drive and great on the highway! Gas mileage is way off - got 20.5 mpg highway 16+/- mpg city. Better gas mileage than my 1999 Pathfinder was a priority when I was looking - dont think I found it. Otherwise, I got a lot more than I would have for the price.

Issues with Santa Fe 2013 - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
By fbarrado - September 29 - 7:48 pmI bought our Santa Fe 2013 in Canada mid Sept 2012. We have experienced many issues after 6 months and 14,000 km (8,700 miles): 1) warning of fuel cap open (fixed after 2 visits) 2) noise on steering column could hear it when stopping the car, part ordered and changed problem solved 3) leather steering wheel cracked, changed warranty, 2 complaints) 4) driver seat was loose, it seems to be a widespread problem (fixed 3 months) 5) Recall of rear camera:risk of fire, fixed 6) Mix mileage is poor, best achieved was 8-10 km/l, not solved (Hyundai Fuel program: card with CAD$42/6,000km a big joke) 7) Found today water leak on driver side below the dashboard. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAR!

Hyundai Santa Fe - an great buy - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By twludlow - September 28 - 7:16 pmExcept for fuel economy the Hyundai Santa Fe is a best buy. Ive only driven it a bit over 1,000 miles but thats enough to know that this a fine handling SUV that, fully equipped, is as well appointed and comfortable as the BMW I owned previously. The fuel economy isnt as advertised however. The literature promises 16/17 in town and 22/23 on the highway. Sorry to say that is way off reality. Im getting more like 16. The dealer is ready to check it for necessary adjustments, so hopefully that will improve the situation. If so, Ill be a Hyundai fan for life.

3rd Santa Fe. Second 2007 Santa Fe - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Marty Ce - September 25 - 11:41 amTry and make sure that all recalls are taken care of before you purchase. Also, even though there has not been a recall. Look into whether or not the fuel sending units have been replaced. In some states they will cause your car to fail inspection. Repair at a reputable shop is not terribly expensive. We have owned 5 Hyundais since 99 An Accent, Elantra, 06 Santa F and 2 07 Santa Fes. 1st one was totalled and I loved it so much I bought another. Not the cars fault it has high mileage (138k now) and needs repairs. But repairs have been things that a car with this mileage needs. ie wheel bearings, brakes, the afore mentioned fuel sending units. Engine still runs well. Transmission is tight. Heated seats and sun roof are tremendous.

Lots of Bang for a Buck - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Don in San Jose - September 20 - 4:50 amDriven AWD SE for 6 month, 6000 miles. Ownership experience has been great with no problems. Before purchase, did a lot of magazine and internet research. Except for expensive luxury SUVs, test drove all small and mid-size SUVs on same road course, with mix of freeway and hilly, curvy streets and surface streets purposely with rough pavement and potholes. For drivability and comfort, narrowed choice down to Santa Fe, Nissan, Acura and Ford Edge. After negotiating price, Santa Fe blew the others away. For SUV, drives well on freeways and mountain roads. Very smooth, quiet and comfortable ride. Seats are comfortable. Mileage in-town around 18; highway 19-20.

Love my Santa Fe - 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe
By maggymay78 - September 18 - 11:03 amI like how it handles on the road, especially on the turns. It is much better on gas than my truck was. The AWD should be great for the winter.

New Hyundai Owner - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
By MJ - September 17 - 2:43 amI traded in my 2009 Mazda 3 for the 2010 Santa Fe a few weeks ago for the increased utility. Im a sports junkie and needed the cargo space of an SUV for all my sports equipment. I researched and/or drove the Rav4, CRV, Tucson, and several others, but fell in love with the Santa Fe when the minute I started driving it. Ive never owned a Hyundai before, but I am thoroughly impressed with their build quality, interior design, and performance. The lengthy warranty is great, as I plan to drive the Santa Fe at least 10 yrs and I put on about 17,500 miles/yr commuting to work. I especially appreciate the very comfy heated leather seats, which makes my commute a joy, along w/ the awesome stereo!
