Used 2003 GLS AWD 2.7L - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Sayer - December 19 - 2:00 amI bought the car three weeks ago. It was a lease trade-in with 16,000 miles on it and I absolutely love it. Its roomy and it went through the snow without a problem. I cannot stop telling people how great this car has been so far. My only issues: the back windshield wiper only wipes half of the window. I need to take it back to the dealer to have it fixed (under warranty), which is bothersome. Also the drivers side door lock paint is peeling in a small spot.

Problems - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By margie weber - December 7 - 8:53 amEven though my son was very good about all of its maintenance checks and oil changes, etc. Hyundai was not good about the warranty coverage and making sure that a certain problem should be taken care of immediately. Now at 53,000, the engine was shot, and it took the extended warranty company Zurich 6 weeks to have it replaced. Now I have a gas line problem which was also noted back in 2005, that was not taken care of and again I have been without my vehicle for two weeks.

Youll need the warranty - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By broken - November 29 - 10:00 amI loved the Santa Fe from the start, good ride, gas mileage is what you should really expect (20mpg highway). Everything went downhill when the transfer case broke down after I had the car for only 3 weeks. Dealership said it was a fluke occurrance, but regardless I will be worried about the reliability from now on. The warranty is nice but knowing youll have to use it is not.

Excellent SUV - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By paulie - November 24 - 10:00 amThe Hyundai Santa Fe is an excellent SUV at a low price. It combines a comfortable ride with secure handing and many standard features at a low price. But acceleration and fuel economy dont match up to todays standards. Overall it is a great vehicle and I recommend it to anyone wanting a small SUV. Reliability is great, too.

Pleased with Hyundai Santa Fe - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By kilaban - November 16 - 6:46 amAfter 50,000 miles were still very pleased with our 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. Aside from some rough shifting that required some transmission-related computer updates, weve had no real trouble. Gas mileage is lower than expected, but the overall build quality inside and out were still pleased with. No squeaks, rattles, or strange noises, and the road noise is low.

Good SUV for the price - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By duclown - June 5 - 1:23 amPurchased new in 2003 for wife to drive to work, family use on weekend. Has made several 2,000 mile round-trips from WI to Denver CO through winter snow without incident. Daily commute is about 15 miles round-trip. Reliable car, has only needed one unscheduled maintenance trip for malfunctioning rear diff computer setting (sounds more serious than it is). Our dog loves the cargo area, she sleeps contentedly in the sun on longer trips.

Love my Santa Fe! - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Gloria - April 27 - 4:40 pmJD Powers caused me to look seriously at a Hyundai and am I glad. I am one who loves the styling and my 5 year olds favorite game is to spot another Santa Fe. I dont need extra horsepower and I addressed my conservationist guilt with the 4 speed shift. I had forgotten how much fun a stick is to drive! Only one downside, I bought a less than one year old trade in. Great price, clean as a whistle, still new car smell, NO TRANSFER OF WARRANTY! Oh well...I really love this SUV.

3.5 engine a must - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By kachunk - April 18 - 10:00 amTurns tight, roomy, bought because of the bumper to bumper 100,000 warranty! Headlights not equally adjusted? AC not great for back seat passengers...

Good car, only a few issues - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By BlakeJana - February 25 - 5:23 pmOverall, I love my Santa Fe. It is a smooth ride since it is on the car body, instead of a truck. I have been in Blazers (which is similar) and it is a horrible ride compared to the Santa Fe. The main issue I have is that sometimes when I am driving, the engine gets bogged down and the car will jerk. It corrects itself, but it is scary when it happens. Besides that, I would recommend this car. I only wish Hyundia made a bigger SUV. i am out of room with my two kids in the back!
