Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Bought it knowing the possible problems - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

I almost immediately experienced the"bump" when after driving a short distance I came to a stop. It seems to have been fixed with a computer replacement however I have just recently, after 5000 miles, had a scarey bump when going about 50 on highway. My passengers all felt it. That was two weeks ago and have not felt it since. Thats the extent of the problems and I knew about the transmission unevenness from extensive board reading. So, Im very pleased. Its great for the mountain and city driving I do -- now wishing for a hybrid that gets 40 mpg.

A fantastic vehicle, never a single problem (except for a software problem that made it stall twice), upkeep is minimal (finally replaced the original tires after 85000 miles), 27+ mpg (even in the city). I cant rave enough about my Sante Fe. Comfortable, fun to drive, reliable, economical, lots of cargo room. Excellant on long trips. I would keep it another 5 years, but have you seen the 2007s?

After a frustrating time with my 02 Odyssey, we decided to get a new SUV. I have tested a fair amount of SUVs in the market and the Santa Fe was my top choice. I bought it and the experience is amazing. 3 months with it and its still pretty flawless. The fuel economy is so-so but what do you expect from a AWD? This CUV is definitely worth looking at. Its the bang for the buck. I love it. My first Hyundai... really impressed.

  • Lots of Bang for a Buck - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Driven AWD SE for 6 month, 6000 miles. Ownership experience has been great with no problems. Before purchase, did a lot of magazine and internet research. Except for expensive luxury SUVs, test drove all small and mid-size SUVs on same road course, with mix of freeway and hilly, curvy streets and surface streets purposely with rough pavement and potholes. For drivability and comfort, narrowed choice down to Santa Fe, Nissan, Acura and Ford Edge. After negotiating price, Santa Fe blew the others away. For SUV, drives well on freeways and mountain roads. Very smooth, quiet and comfortable ride. Seats are comfortable. Mileage in-town around 18; highway 19-20.

  • Love my Santa Fe - 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe

I like how it handles on the road, especially on the turns. It is much better on gas than my truck was. The AWD should be great for the winter.

  • New Hyundai Owner - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

I traded in my 2009 Mazda 3 for the 2010 Santa Fe a few weeks ago for the increased utility. Im a sports junkie and needed the cargo space of an SUV for all my sports equipment. I researched and/or drove the Rav4, CRV, Tucson, and several others, but fell in love with the Santa Fe when the minute I started driving it. Ive never owned a Hyundai before, but I am thoroughly impressed with their build quality, interior design, and performance. The lengthy warranty is great, as I plan to drive the Santa Fe at least 10 yrs and I put on about 17,500 miles/yr commuting to work. I especially appreciate the very comfy heated leather seats, which makes my commute a joy, along w/ the awesome stereo!

  • BEST MID SIZE SUV FOR THE MONEY - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Being a auto tech for 20 plus I know what to look for, and after driving all in this class from acuras to toyotas we choose this, the only one complaint I have is rear isolation the rav 4 was better but the lack of gutless power of toys 4 banger I whent with the sante fe hands down bought the se fwd model, love it 24mpg average and almost as fast as my 66 skylark with a built motor go figure. offer invoice they will take it ask to see it, they will show you. traded in my 06 solara for this suv and I like it alot would never go back to a car.

  • Best in Show - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Shopped around. Looked at the 4cyl competitors such as the X-Trail, CRV, Forester etc. But we need to tow a small boat and the 2000lb capacity of those models swayed us to a V6, reluctantly. We drove Endeavor, Pilot, a used ML and a couple others. We like that the styling is brand new so it wont look out of date for a while. MUCH better than the old model. There really was no other choices that made sense. Toyotas and Hondas with leather were 40K and really didnt seem better. Sincerely the best bang for the buck out there in a mid-size SUV.

Great vehicle! Sexy Look! Great value. Better than EPA gas mileage already (1200 miles). This is a very nice vehicle for the money. You wont be sorry with this one I dont think.
