Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

My Second Santa Fe - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By SteveSt - December 17 - 10:00 amThis is my second Santa Fe. Originally owned the 2002 fwd LX but wanted the bigger engine and 4wd. Also got the sunroof, woodgrain interior and running boards. This car has been great. It offers a compiant ride, good handling and many safety features including side air bags. No wonder Hyundai is tied with Honda for Initial Quality. Buy it...you wont regret it!

Santa Fe 2WD 6 Cyl - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Marnie - December 15 - 10:00 amWonderful vehicle! We are enjoying it very much. Lots of muffler clearance on our country lane way. Warranty is excellent. Lots of zip; handles well and is very comfortable and roomy compared with the others we looked at. We spent a few months on research and reviews and were not mislead. The V6 has more power than we need perhaps, as the speedometer is continually sneaking up past the speed limits! A flat surface on the dash board would be helpful, or cup holder in the glove box perhaps? There isnt a spot to set a fast food tray down so you can distribute the burgers etc. to the family.

First 500 miles - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By scotts758 - December 12 - 8:03 pmThis is the second Hyundai I have owned. The first one I drove 130,000 and turned it over to my Son. The car still runs very well. I had a Honda Pilot SUV before and liked it better but its a lot more pricy then the Santa Fe so you have your trade offs. I bought this vehicle on the last day of the month and actually walked out of the dealership because they wouldnt meet my price. Three hours later they called me and agreed to sell me the Santa Fe for what I wanted. Always buy at the end of the month. You will get what you want or the dealership just couldnt do the deal.

After a year....a good choice - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Luisito - December 7 - 12:23 amAfter a year, my Santa Fe has been extremely reliable. The power from the 3.5 is adequate if not outstanding. The engine is "silky-smooth" and not noisy. I like the interior design as it is very ergonometric and almost everything is accessible. The brakes and stopping distance are very good for this type of SUV. The A/C design is perfect for me and my family, as the vents are out of your face and we truly like that.

noisey? no power, guzzler - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe
By julie crowley - December 5 - 2:00 pmi love my santa fe, believe it or not from the title. But it has no acceleration to speak of and is very noisey. It drinks petrol and costs me a fortune to keep. although it got me through 2foot flood water with no problems at all recently.

By Ronald Hansen - December 2 - 2:00 amFor the money that I spent its hard to beleave that forks out there are willing to part with an additional $10,000 dollar for all I got. My friend tells me how much he loves my Sante Fe but his wife wont let him buy one because they dont cost enough. Well, I love mine and have had no problems and am happy with my dealer.

Hyundai Convert - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Linenguy - December 2 - 2:00 amAfter owning Acura, Honda and Mitsubishi I looked at the Sante Fe and was won over by the quality, drive, price and 0% financing. This vehicle is one of the best buys out there for a mid size SUV. I own a full size Montero but the Hyundai is better built. I actually bought 1 and helped buy one for a friend of my wife who was turning in an Escalade. (Had a real happy salesman) If looking for a great buy get over your ego and pre- determined thoughts about Hyundai and give this vehicle a try.

Leaks - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By anne - November 27 - 5:10 amI purchased a used 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe with 5500 miles on it for 18,900 and then it rained saturating the rugs on the drivers side with water. Two days later it was back at the dealership. They put it through the car wash and said the leak was coming from the door and that it would be ready in two days. They then called and said they were going to keep it two weeks. I took it back home waxed it and kept it in the garage. Last Saturday it poured, I had left it outside and again the rugs were saturated with water. Resealing of the windshield didnt work. This experience has soured me on Hyundais although I really liked the feel and large cargo area. Carmax took the vehicle back.
