Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

This is our first Hyundai product and having owned Toyota and Honda, were sold! Drives and rides like a luxury SUV, most people cant believe its a Hyundai which still has a somewhat negative connotation associated with the company for some reason. We even drove a used Lexus GX470 in the same price range and found the Hyundai to be more comfortable and much better fuel mileage. Great Car thus far.

We were down to the wire between the RAVA and the Santa Fe. I have been a longterm Toyota customer, but the featurers, warranty and the price of the Santa Fe far out weighted my customer loyalty to Toyota. This car has the same ( except outside temp. display and V8 engine ) featurers as my 99 Landcruiser at less than half the price. Very solid ride and no rattles. Hope it holds up through the warranty like my Toyotas have.

  • Major Upgrade from Original Santa Fe - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Santa Fe has aggressively kept up with the competition. This is my third Santa Fe, and while I admired the original version (even the quirky styling), there is no question but that the new version is a significant improvement. I am amazed at how well- thought out it is, in general, through the superb use of materials to small details, such as the slight driver’s side tilt to the center console stack. Look and “tactile” feel (other than a few too many hard surfaces) is very up-scale; I even find the firm seats “just right.” Power is ample and smooth, and the base stereo works well. Bravo Hyundai!

  • Hyundai is the Honda of 2008 - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

The Hyundai Santa Fe is a wonderful compact SUV, that drives like a car, but is extremely versatile. My SF has 3rd row seats so that I can seat up to 7 passengers, unbelievable! Also, if I have 2 with car seats and one older child I can put one car seat in the back and still have the other backseat down (split folding seats in the 3rd row) which is great for cargo. This vehicle is smooth and the interior is beautiful. The industrial design of the interior is so much better then the cheap plastic of Toyota RAV4 or Honda CRV. The interior is very classy and the V6 engine is powerful yet gas efficient. I have 12k miles on my 2007 SF and am getting 24 mpg per tank on 50% hwy & 50% city drivin

  • One more thing! - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

Forgot to add. Gas mileage from the get-go has been close to 23 mpg in mixed driving. Works for me!

  • A lot of SUV for the money; very happy! - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

I came from a 2008 Mariner Premier, this SUV is superior in every way. Smooth ride, quiet, and very comfortable and the included amenities are unbelievable for the price; avg mpg, outside temp, steering wheel radio controls, blue tooth, wood grain trim, storage everywhere. These seats are VERY comfortable, this was the biggest surprise for me. This is also a very, very smooth transmission. At 70 mph in central FL, I am getting between 23.5 to 24 mpg on a brand new engine...but that is also what I get in city driving. The vehicle is better than the 20 mpg city rating but less than the 28 mpg highway rating; Hyundai ought to address this and not use calculations. Give this SUV a look!

  • My Hyundai Rocks - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

Hyundai is not what they used to be. They are reliable! My first was a 1995 Accent; my husband drove the car until June, 2008. When Big Red finished, she had 159,000 miles! That type of reliable made me a loyal Hyundai customer! I bought my Santa Fe in 2002. I call her Lucille, and she still looks as good when I drove her off the lot! I wouldnt trade my Hyundai in for anything else! We just bought a 2008 Sonata!

  • Best Car Ive Owned in Years - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe

In 155000 miles I have replaced the drivers side sun visor, the rear hatch locking mechanism and the drivers side seat heater. Thats the end of the list. Our Santa Fe consistently gets 24 MPG highway while delivering a comfortable ride and good handling. This car has been very well maintained so it still looks great and runs great. Probably the most "bang for the buck" that I have ever gotten in an automobile. I expect to get at least another 100k miles on this car.

  • In Love! - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

This is my first new car in 23 years so I researched models and price for months. Had been a loyal Toyota owner (until this year) and also wanted my first SUV. Thanks to Edmunds and Truecar.com, I honed in on the Santa Fe, then used the internet to contact sev. dealers and start negotiating. Local dealer agreed to sell the only fully loaded, 2010 Ltd that he had on the lot (theyre hard to find) for a negotiated price of $27,600 and I drove off the lot completely in love with this car. Entire purchasing process was seamless and painless. As a woman, I cant stress enough the importance of using Edmunds and TrueCar to educate oneself and gain negotiating confidence and power.
